That's why Deb knows now. And that's why season 7 and 8 are going to be FANTASTIC. EVERYTHING is in the cards, now.

TVLINE | The fact that Deb knows Dexter’s secret — well, part of his secret. She only saw him kill one person. And one murder does not a serial killer make. Correct. [But] Deb has absolutely without a doubt seen Dexter commit a ritual kill. We’re not teasing the audience or jerking the audience around. TVLINE | Deb came close to discovering Dex’s “dark passenger” in the Season 5 finale. Why not pull the trigger on it then as opposed to postponing it for another season? I wasn’t running the show at the time so I didn’t have the opportunity to pull the trigger. But again, it was because of things like that that it felt like we had teased the audience to a point that was not quite right anymore. It felt like time to be more honest with the situation. Yeah, that would be my assumption, as well, but the number one rule of the code is: Don't get caught. But I guess it won't happen ![]()

Crazy speculation but just something to think about. Even worse, if she decides to not turn him in at first what happens once she figures out he was the Butcher Bay Killer and that he framed Doakes for that. It will not be hard to figure out unless the writers are going to be more awful then this last episode of season 7.

It will not be hard to figure out unless the writers are going to be more awful then this last episode of season 7. Just looks at interviews with the guy in charge. It's definitely a possibility that they fuck up that badly. Season 7 has a couple of plot points developed, since we already know that lab guy is going to go nuts and the deb-dex story is going to be a huge part of it. On the other hand, we've seen how the show handles these moments (Debra looking into Dexter's past; Trinity's son, etc) and, IMO, this show has perpetually failed to deliver on these build ups. I think when it's all said and done. Season 1 and 2 will be the only ones I remember. The only "true" Dexter seasons IMO. The rest is not unwatchable, it's just nothing special.
