Deb finding out that Dexter's a serial killer, she still won't put two and two together. She won't realize that the reason trinity killed Rita was b/c Dexter was hunting him, she won't realize that he's the bay harbor butcher, she won't realize that the reason Rudy targeted her was b/c of Dexter (even though she already knows he's her brother, she still never has a clue). Yet she really should be able to figure this stuff out.
The logical thought process should be... okay... my brother's into vigilante justice. This was clearly premeditated. Hmm, this kill scene looks strangely like the bay harbor butcher one. Perfectly clean, dark, isolated. And Dexter's always spending so much time out on his boat... Um... then there was that vigilante justice before with that girl... and hey Dexter was living with some strange girl in his apartment. And hey, Rudy was his brother... And, hey, isn't it weird how a lot of the people we're investigating always seem to disappear and never commit another crime?

i think her figuring stuff out, at least immediately, would be completely unrealistic. Not only is it much more then putting two and two together but even if it were, since he is a sibling she would no doubt be in denial.

Yea, that was mostly my thought. Deb always seems to be in the dark on anything that's not directly in front of her.
Edit: Also just wanted to say that I'm impressed the writers finally had the guts to do what they should have done at the end of season 5, which would have redeemed an otherwise rather bland season. Next season should be interesting.
I wonder how Lieutenant Deb is going to deal with the fact that Dexter is hiding information from Miami metro so that he can get the kill.

Can't believe people like s2  It's the worst imo, along with s3. They killed off doakes AND that lila chick was clearly insane yet Dexter kept her around (DONT STICK YOUR DICK IN CRAZY HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THIS). Dexter takes a short trip to paris and nobody gives a fuck etc etc. I HATED s2 so much, ugh.

Meh, if they didn't want a brother-sister relationship, they wouldn't have wrote that part in. Deb will confess her feelings by the end of s7, I guarantee it.

Not everyone has had time to watch the finale yet. You may not 'get' why they come here but a spoiler tag is seriously 10 seconds of effort, can you not spare 10 seconds for a common courtesy?

I really liked this season, but I feel like it was a bit scattered. Even though it had a lot to do with religion, it couldn't really keep a coherent theme about Dexter's belief in God. It touched on the concept of light and dark a bit, but they didn't do a great job of tying that in to the twist at the end, which was pretty much just there to preview the events of season 7.
