I agree theres not enough tension in Dexter anymore. Ice-truck killer and Trinity seasons were by far the best. Right now, especially with this ridiculously dumb "altered personality can move stuff and do work" act is about as shocking as Adam Sandler being Jill in that new movie. I want a nice plot, not random sexual/relationship acts between 3 pairs of people.
Oh wow, marijuana guy tied to nothing is evil. Expects Dexter could be a cop and wants to kill him. This makes sense, because cops on missions are always alone! Evil marijuana guy with a gun watches as over an 8 second period of time Dexters "soul" grabs a pitchfork from BEHIND HIM and then stabs him. This season is rubbish. It is a fact. I'll enjoy it because its Dexter, but its even a step down from the season with Lumen. Why don't they just give us what we want. John Lithgow saying "hello, dexter morgan" on repeat in a heinous voicetone. Or Debra and Laguerta go on a ladies night and Quinn drunk crashes into their taxi and they all die. Oh yeah, and they crashed into the new interns and Dexters "keep you sexually interested in the show" Nanny hottie.

Subtle point easy to overlook: Dexter had fired all the ammunition in the crazy car scene and would have known the gun was empty.

I think they're just running out of good plot lines. They've gone through dexter's past pretty much completely, did the whole cop finds out about him thing, he's had a student, and a love interest who understands him. They're just recycling their decent plot ideas at this point D:
Debra has to find out about dexter's dark passenger :| she has to find the blood slides and all that. It's like the most obvious way of creating awesome tension/interaction, and they had it set up PERFECTLY last season for her to do so. I dunno why they're so opposed to it.

I think they just got cold feet. It's kind of silly how they won't let her put two and two together. Hey, Dexter, your brother was the ice truck killer! Okay, thirty seconds later, we'll never mention the fact that Deb knows this ever again. Oh, and hey, perfect moment at the end of the season to discover the truth and set up for a ridiculously awesome sixth season.... nah I think we'll just have a happy ending.
Cold feet, I'm telling you. They almost were there.

Dexter getting two more seasons huh, they're going to milk it for all its worth.

Gonna ask again because got no responses last time I posted this. Wasn't it pretty obvious that Quinn knew about Dexter last season when his guy (following Dexter and Lumen) got killed? Why is there no mention of this in the new season?

I think Dexter being discovered in while he is slowly struggling and turning into a true "bad" serial killer would be great.

Because Quinn apparently lost all his brains when he fell in love with Debra and didn't want to rock the boat by saying "yo your brother might be a serial killer".
Dexter doesn't always wrap up it's plot lines perfectly.

so does anyone else thing that by the end of the season, he'll actually not kill Travis?
or is it simply that when he realizes the killer he IS looking for, is actually him. and then he does it.

+ Show Spoiler +I was really expecting the end of the episode to reveal whether there were one or two killers. Guess we'll have to wait on that. I'm betting he'll forgive Travis but still kill him. Maybe he'll justify it by saying he's killing Gellar, but Travis' soul will still get to go to heaven. I'm wondering if Dexter will open up to Deb at all in the next couple episodes. I doubt he'll tell her about the killings but he might share some big secret with her.

This season took it's time but I'm starting to really love where it's going. The whole "is Gellar real" thing is getting to me.

Maybe for once Dexter won't kill the main killer of the season. It'll increase Deb's stats on catching criminals and if the Gellar theory holds true, Travis would be put into a mental institute instead of prison.

Yep, plus brother sam's message about being able to forgive yourself and letting go would all wrap up nicely.

I've always wondered if I'm the only one who wants this character gone.
Its funny because in the books she gets killed off in the first book (ie supposed to die in the first season of dexter). Silly how they kept her, didn't even like her in the first season, don't like her now.

But marijuana guy could have just reloaded? He thought Dexter could kill him, he would've just checked.

+ Show Spoiler +Can't believe they are still slow playing the Travis/Gellar revelation. So annoying. Looks like it's going to be a boring end to the season if this keeps up.
|
What if Gellar was actually real??? how funny would that be. The old man was really able to escape from the church before the superhuman dexter could find him lol.
|
I still think Gellar is not real. He couldn't have known about Debra questioning Travis' sister unless he monitors his house 24/7. And he surely couldn't have seen Debra's weapon.

Guys, I think Geller might not actually be real. 0_0
+ Show Spoiler + HERF DERF.
God this is starting to piss me off. So far it's been another season down the toilet. Dexter continues to feel like it's run out of ideas and is desperately trying to recycle elements from the show's glory days. Also, Quinn needs to die already.
