When it comes to classics, I like Network (1976) and think everyone should watch it. Its not only really insightful but also way ahead of its time. Much of what it speculates on actually has come to pass since then, the performances are great and the ideas are also good.

The little girl in Paper Moon was the female player on the Bad News Bears baseball team. Tatum O'Neal. I find the Godfather movies to be solidly above average, but not great. I don't get why people think the movies are great. The head Godfather guy played Jor-El/Superman's dad in the Superman movie from the 1970s.

2001: A space Odyssey (1968). It still has one of the most genius cuts in movie history, it's long and mesmerizing, a work of art and vision, great. Alien (1979): It was something of a turning point. Before Alien movie directors envisioned space in a somewhat positive manner. Alien is the turning point where space is an asshole and everything that lives there in all likelyhood your enemy and you are the next meal. A fusion of sciFi and horror. Blade Runner (1982): By far Ridley Scott's best work, aesthetically pleasing to this day and an ATG Soundtrack. Mixes SciFi with philosophical questions, with our advancements in tech the movie gets more relevant with each passing year.

Very gritty, great acting and far more "real" than most of the movies at the time. I mean I can see why you wouldn't be interested in 3 but even my wife loved 1 and 2 when I made her watch them and they are not her type of movie. I'm surprised. I like all the moving pieces and how the events shape the characters.

Maybe its just me, but something about those Godfather movies just grates on me and I can't watch them. Maybe I saw too many gangster movies as a youngster - all of which were influenced by the GF - and they just made me bored of watching gangster movies.
