As for how this ends - and I really hope this isn't it because I want to be surprised - Guy doesn't finish him off, all the buildup thus far has no resolution so as an ending it would be really shitty, so I see Naruto becoming a Sage of the Six Paths in some way, Madara gets defeated, but then. He uses his powers to revive everyone who died in this war, including Neji and Shikaku and all them folks - and Guy too ofc, maybe even Obito - and, because he used the Rinne Tensei, he dies. In the aftermath, a warm and fuzzy alliance is forged between the 5 nations, and Naruto is honored as the 6th Hokage. This fits for two reasons, one is his father pulled the same shit - become Hokage and very soon afterward die - and that one line Naruto uttered a couple times that always felt like foreshadowing to me - 'until I become Hokage, there's no way I'm gonna die', or something like that.
I hate how predictable that is, but it gives closure to everything in an otherwise satisfactory way. Hope I'm wrong though.
of course Gai doesnt win here be a pretty bad ending for Gai to pown Madara withouyt the main character
but i think he does get Madara somehow though hits him where it really hurts and he cant fix easily maybe he messes up his chakra a bit makes madara weaker for when Naruto and Sasuke fight him

that's not a bad ending aside from the fact that Naruto dies and I would prefer he lives lol

when Sasuke became good again Naruto lost his death flag sasuke is the only one allowed to kill him, hell totally survive now and become Hokage maybe he and Sasuke can share the seat though

How it's really gonna end:
Sasuke and Naruto tag-team Madara down, OMG U GUYZ HERO etc
Sasuke stabs naruto in the back, but naruto manages to overcome the disadvantage of having a sword stuck through his ribcage and defeat sasuke, and is elected hokage to lead the 5 nations into a new era of prosperity
However, sasuke didn't really die - instead, he retreats to the shadows to rebuild the uchiha clan and at the same time creates an akatsuki-style organization, which he names Hebi in honor of his previous escapades.
Naruto is actually 100% aware of this and maintains covert communications with Sasuke - Hebi is labeled a terrorist organization by the Five Kages, but Naruto is secretly using Hebi as his secret police. Sasuke rules the shadows and Naruto rules the light. With the death of Madara, none can match the might of the Naruke duo, cue madman rules the world ending :D

Better ending would be that Gai destroys Madara and everything that is evil. The ninja alliance see that and get inspired to be like him and stop using ninjutsu altogether. Instead the hidden villages now teach kung fu and other martial arts.

Rock lee is going to use the 8th gate aswell, together they will defeat madara.
after that, orochimaru gives sasuke a power up boost with the dead madara's cell and naruto gets the sage of the six path power and that will be the final battle.

Another ending I'd like is sorta like Devil May Cry 3, Naruto and Sasuke combine powers to beat Madara, and once he's out of the way, they can finally have their goddamned rematch.

we talking about endings? I would like to see another time-skip where naruto is a full adult and becomes a hokage. The new series will end in Sasuke vs Naruto and both of them dying while they're around middle-age... and then a new generation appears. That's the very end with possible spin-offs from naruto's child, etc.
I still believe the 4th hokage will finish off Madara, even without arms. The last blow will redeem everything that's happened to him so far. Sasuke weakens madara with his new eyes(?), naruto sucks out all the bijuus, kakashi might get obito's other eye once madara takes back his eye and starts laying waste on madara. I have no idea how madara will reach obito in the other dimension but it probably has to do with the black zetsu. It could be that madara will take kakashi's eye and use that power.

Yeah sure 8 gate damages madara and kyubi form barely scratches obito in 6 path mode with sage chackra.
Regarding gai being able to use ninjutsu with the summoning of turtles and the recent chapter saying he can't do ninjutsu. Just count it as plothole. Kishi has been doing it for the entire final arc anyways. So whatever.
