It's kind of sad we haven't seen more of the seven swordsman imo. They got hyped a ton when they were rezz'd yet all bar Zabuza were off panelled (anime showed more but still didn't show anything of mangetsu). It kind of feels like Madara is getting weaker and weaker each chapter. He roflstomps the kages, gives zero shits about any of the hokages and tailed beasts but take a stab from Obito without doing anything and now seems surprised by Gai despite already knowing of the 8 gates power. It ain't looking good imo. | ||

I want to see Madara get utterly curbstomped for at least a few pages. Notice how: 6 gates: Morning Peacock 7 gates: Daytime Tiger 8 Gates: Evening Elephant I'm hoping there's a Phoenix in this somewhere. Also, Kakashi is pretty trash compared to Gai. | ||

It ain't looking good imo. the dude with the stitch swords is the one who got revived, taking a look at the only survivng person who can claim to be one of the seven swordsmen (the pussy boy with the water kage chick) seems like theyve had a tough time filling in the ranks also Gai was able to sorta match him with the 7 gates (as in actually connect his attacks and keep up with him) with 8 gates hed be faster then Madara is | ||

Two supposed at least chunin ranked ninjas beat up a five year old kid that badly for throwing a rock at them? Wtf? This is konoha right? And they supposedly got over it without any charge? Just a thought, I wonder how many swordsmen of the mist dai f'ed up with his eight gates | ||

I'm leaning more towards the second one because of his turtle summons. We learnt from Jiraiya that summoning requires a tonne of chakra and if Gai was like Lee he wouldn't be able to do it. Just my thoughts on the matter. | ||

As for how this ends - and I really hope this isn't it because I want to be surprised - Guy doesn't finish him off, all the buildup thus far has no resolution so as an ending it would be really shitty, so I see Naruto becoming a Sage of the Six Paths in some way, Madara gets defeated, but then. He uses his powers to revive everyone who died in this war, including Neji and Shikaku and all them folks - and Guy too ofc, maybe even Obito - and, because he used the Rinne Tensei, he dies. In the aftermath, a warm and fuzzy alliance is forged between the 5 nations, and Naruto is honored as the 6th Hokage. This fits for two reasons, one is his father pulled the same shit - become Hokage and very soon afterward die - and that one line Naruto uttered a couple times that always felt like foreshadowing to me - 'until I become Hokage, there's no way I'm gonna die', or something like that. I hate how predictable that is, but it gives closure to everything in an otherwise satisfactory way. Hope I'm wrong though. | ||
