I'm predicting that Sasuke will awaken his own rinnegan in the coming chapters, making the way for my likely-bogus theory:
Naruto is the reincarnation of the Sage's younger son (the Senju ancestor), and Sasuke is the reincarnation of the older son (the Uchiha ancestor.) And, just like those sons, Naruto represents the Sage's "body": that of strong life force and physical energy, while believing in the strength of love. Sasuke represents his "eyes", possessing his dojutsu, powerful chakra, and believes in the strength of power and force.
However where the Sage's sons were split by their ideologies, Naruto and Sasuke will represent the healing of these two bloodlines, and the possibility for peace despite their differences. Together they will use their different strengths to overcome Madara and finally bring peace to the ninja world, just as the Sage intended for his sons.
I think it's a nice way to give both Naruto and Sasuke a big role to play (it feels a little too top heavy now with all the "Naruto is the messiah" crap) and it would give a bit of a poetic ending to the Senju/Uchiha conflict, though Naruto technically isnt a Senju.
A bit of a shot in the dark, but thats what I'm hoping. I understand Naruto is the main character at all, but it would feel weird giving him the rinnegan over the guy who's literally represented the strength of eye-techniques this entire time.
I would be more happy to see sasuke expecting an upgrade to rinnegan and actually got devolved into byakugan lol Extra plot twist - Naruto gets the very dead Neji's Byakugan, it turns into a Rinnegan. Sasuke gets a Rinnegan from Hashirama's jutsu. They then fuse into an exact copy of Madara, where they proceed to destroy each other. The Naruto/Sasuke fusion is then memorialized as Honorary Hokage, for ending the war, and Sakura becomes the normal Hokage, thus granting all their wishes of being Hokage.

8 gate all in incoming, calling it now
|
Like a dying star glowing brightly in a supernova right before it dies, Gai will unleash the final gate, the death gate. His power of youth will set him and those around him ablaze in a glorious, blazing inferno before the fire of youth consumes his life. He won't look back for even a moment because he knows there is no return and no point regretting. And thus the will of fire will also be passed on to Rock Lee.
Who am I kidding, Kishi will let him survive...

Also he will die doing a terrible wound to Madara, who will fight full power in the next chapter as if it never happened anyway.

Who am I kidding, Kishi will let him survive... I dunno why but I'm almost sure he'll die this time. Kishi seems less reluctant about killing older ninjas seeing as they are the ones that mostly die then again, he did kill Neji and left Tsunade and other kages alive hmm
|
Kishi is reluctant to let anyone die. Itachi and Pain/Nagato were I think the last people that died before Neji.
And Itachi's death was foreshadowed really early. It basically went like this:
Itachi: Hate me, Sasuke. Come at me bro. Sasuke: I'm gonna kill you! I will avenge my clan! On the next appearance then: Itachi: Foolish little brother. You lack hatred. Sasuke: Kill kill vengeance vangeance. Itachi: Kill me please
And so forth. The only time Itachi appeared differently before his death was when he put a genjutsu on Naruto inside a genjutsu that was cast by his bunshin.
Oh yeah, and then he got resurrected and recycled without end.
|
He killed Shikamaru's and Ino's fathers as well, it's not like nobody died but yeh not a lot of people die. Still more than dbz though.
|
Shikamaru and Ino's father will get resurrected of course, dont worry Kishi doesn't kill anyone.

Shikamaru would probably do the best job on the political side of things, handling relations within and without the village, but apparently to be a great Hokage you have to both do that AND be able to kick some serious ass. He doesn't quite meet that second one. He would make a good advisor though, as was mentioned in the manga some time ago.

I flatout prefer dbz in that regard: Resurrecting characters is utter bullshit, but dbz at least puts clear rules on that bullshit(you can only be resurrected once with earth dragon balls) while Naruto does not(Chiyo's technique had rules: 1 life for 1 life | Edo Tensei only requires dust from your body and anyone's corpse | The rinnegan technique lets you revive an entire city at once before it costs your life | We don't even know if that's all techniques)
