Naruto's been like that for the longest time though. Every new villian in the series was progresivily more powerful then the previous one. it's normal for this to happen.

Yeah you´re right, it is quite normal, and it has to be like that. But i think the last villains were just out of the scale. There was no need to make them THAT strong (calling asteroids down, Shadow-Clones that beat Kages easily, etc.).

Naruto stopped being about tactics since the 3 year time skip sadly, so it's been crap for a while.
At least DB didn't pretend to be anything else and it's thematically consistent. Naruto is very convoluted.

I think he's setting it up for us to see that Madara is indeed as powerful as legends spoke of him. I mean, Madara and Hashirama are considered the two strongest fighters in the whole manga with Hashirama being the best. Ya, he could've toned it down but I guess he wanted to show that the current Kages are weak in comparison to Madara.
Latest chapter wasn't too bad although I was really hoping that Obito will lose his inner battle with the Juubi. Anyone else?

Didn´t want to bash DB, i loved it  But in the end I thought it was a bit boring that the villains just were stronger/near impossible to beat.
@BigFan Yeah, but as I said, i think they´re just too strong, especially with endless chakra. And I always couldn´t understand how the fact that Madara and Hashirama (after the Rikkudo Sennin) were the strongest of all time corresponds with the philosophy "the new generation surpasses the previous", which was a huge theme throughout the Manga.

I feel that Orochimaru will be the final boss of the manga (I'm okay with it to be honest). I'm interested to see how our guys are gonna handle the bijuus when they beat Obito, my guess is that Kakashi will have the final strike. Then there is also Madara's trump card. All in all, this manga is going to take another year at least.
Also iirc, Oro has hashirama's cells and he is too secretive, so something is up.

This. The show started going downhill when AFTER Naruto learned his first rasengan. Instead of learning newer, bigger rasengan, he should have learned other techniques like minor-level fire jutsu and the show should have expanded on fights with bunch of smart tactics / traps instead of one super-powerful transformation that uses a death-ball move on the world.

you think it would be logical at this point if it was revealed that only the uzumaki out of all Senjus are able to activate the rinnegan after we already saw an uzumaki with them ( yeha i know he got them from Madara)

except the reason that Madara has those rinnegans is by stealing Senju DNA, so if Naruto got some Uchiha DNA injected it makes perfect sense that he could manage to awaken a Rinnegan
