Surprisingly good episode. Thought it was going to be half filler like the rest but Frieza was great and Goku too.

It sets up nicely for the tournament. Frieza is a complete wild card at this point. If he was going to play nice U7 would probably easily take this with Goku Vegeta and Frieza + 17 and Gohan being pretty good step downs from the top tier.

Manga chapter 25 is out. Interesting development for Goku and the manga is trying to fix the end of the Zamasu arc.

Anime with another great episode. Lets hope they keep the quality up for the tournament of power.

The manga is getting weird now. Just read it, and I'm not sure what the hell they were trying to do. Now it's just as confusing as before.

The ending of the episode seems to imply some sort of friendly rival between goku and freeza.

At first I didn't like they brought back freeze to kick-start dbs because its such a fan service but it's going better than I ever imagined.

Yeah, really gonna have to wait on the explanation for this.
Some of the retcons I can deal with, because the original explanations were dumb and should be removed. But the Potara doing this weird shit is a bit far-fetched.
Also, I kind of assumed Destruction was a skill given with the title of God of Destruction, not a learned skill.

That was hands down the best episode of the series. Wow. Freeza is such a well developed character at this point and I love that they are using him as a seed through which to grow a darker, more insidious part of the show. I don't think Freeza will betray U7 within the tournament, but I do think he'll try to kill Goku once they've won. Hell, Goku may try to kill Freeza once they've won.

This Freeza/Goku bromance is dripping with desire. These guys feel utterly turned on by the idea of fighting each other. Every interaction between the two of them has been exactly as it should have been. Freeza brings out a side of Goku that I missed seeing. Well, not just Goku, but the show as a whole. Freeza slaughtering groups of people, blowing up groups of heads at the same time...fuck yeah. I am reminded of Freeza blowing up Krillin.

I'm not convinced Freeza actually intended to join the other universe. I think it is possible, but I also think this could have all been either a bait to get more information, an attempt to kill their GoD, thus taking his place, or Freeza just fucking with them for the mind game component. He may have been intending to switch sides, but I also think Freeza knew Goku would be able to overcome that purple GoD attack thing. Freeza knows exactly the rate that Goku increased in strength. When he was gold form, he knew how much stronger he had become. For Goku to somehow be nearly as powerful as that was insane. Especially since in the end, they are said to be equals.

I still think that the manga fight was way better than the anime. Now the every little piece of Zamasu becoming one Zamasu is weird. Regenerating imortality is weird.

And Vegeta kicking Goku was funny.

Liked this episode especially with Freeza actually killing without mercy. Finally, something they got right from dbz. Excited that we finally got to the tournament next episode!

Anime: So, that preview did indeed show god's of destruction on the stage, right? Are we to assume that they are not actually fighting each other in any way and that they are doing some kinda ceremony? I am also very surprised by the fact that people are just kind of standing around and it doesn't seem like people are particularly tense.

I am incredibly not ok with Goku "learning" the destroy technique. Destroy should be something that can only be used by a god of destruction. An instant kill technique that works regardless of power (as we have been made to believe) should not be something that Goku can do. It should be something that is some kinda divine power that only works when you are officially a god of destruction.

My bad. I thought things aren't considered spoilers in this thread once it is posted/aired? Isn't that how we handle the anime?

Edit: Now that I google around, I am seeing I apparently read it somewhere other than the official site? Did it leak or something? If so, I am dreadfully, terribly sorry to have spoiled it. I saw some people talking about the manga and I just kinda googled around until I found it...weird.
