But Goku is a long way off from redeeming himself. He endangered everyone throughout all universes just to kill his boredom. Yes, Zeno looks like a kid. But we've repeatedly been told that he's the supreme power in the universe and that he's already destroyed 6 universes because he was in a bad mood once. And the fact of the matter is that Zeno had already forgotten about the whole thing and Goku reminded him of the idea. Of course it wasn't intentional but he's responsible for the consequences of his actions. | ||

If everyone fighting for "our" universe is someone we already know i will be disappointed for sure, doesn't seem to make any sense and is lost potential story wise. | ||

It's only known characters which they'll probably justify with Beerus telling Goku making the team is his responsibility because he caused the whole thing. So Goku naturally only asks people he knows. Also considering they're about to introduce an absurd amount of characters from all universes in this arc, does it really matter if there's no one new for Universe 7? It also wouldn't make sense for someone really strong to just suddenly pop up. In which case their story potential isn't that great anyway. | ||

Seems hard to swallow that the top 10 are all connected to Goku tbh. You are right that we get to see new characters, but all these characters will be on different teams. It's a different dynamic than having unknown characters on your team. But yeah i guess it depends on what the author does with the other new characters | ||

Goku Vegeta Buu Gohan Piccolo 17 18 All make sense, they're all far stronger than Frieza (before he was revived), who was the dominant force in Universe 7. Obviously Krillin, Tien and especially goddamn Roshi don't really fit the bill. Goten and Trunks are way stronger. But regardless, I don't think it's that unlikely Goku actually knows all the strongest living fighters in Universe 7 personally. | ||

Maybe not the biggest deal but i would prefer it another way. It's all part of the imo problem though that the power up was just too much with the god of destruction, etc It's so hard to find new enemies now who make some sense, integrate other people than Goku/Vegeta, etc | ||

I think you are overthinking this and it's way way way too out of left field for a new fighter to just randomly stumble in as one of the Top 10. Keep in mind that this series continues from DBZ so by the end of that, we already knew who fits the bill. | ||
