Really, really good ending though, it finally felt like the writing came back, right at the end lol. The teamwork of Goku and Frieza was great, and having 17 be the last one standing, and the one to make the wish that Zen-oh foresaw, which was also in line with his new "human" streak... there was a lot of good closure and development here. The battle itself was really good too. I'm a little bummed that they got rid of Goku's UI, by just calling it an accidental transformation. I guess they still want Beerus to be the strongest in U7. Phooey.
I'm excited for what's next regardless, and seeing who the new villain is in the movie.

I don't think UI is gone forever. It's just "I can't use it in this fight" which, for the time being, puts Vegetable on the same footing as Goku for all intents and purposes.
Beerus is still definitely going to be stronger even with UI. While it's clear that at the pace that Saiyans evolve they will eventually reach the level of the GoDs eventually, I don't think they did so yet. The UI power is far more sporadic, far less consistent, far less durable than the consistent overwhelming strength of the GoDs. The qualifier about Jiren being stronger than Belmod "in terms of just raw power" strongly suggests that even Jiren would lose in that fight.

They never qualified the way in which Jiren outclassed Belmod. We can only assume it was because they fought straight-up at some point, and Jiren overwhelmed him, much the same as he did with Goku. Between Jiren and Toppo, Goku and Vegeta have definitely been in the realm of GoD's for the ToP. And though Goku doesn't have a command over UI yet, he was definitely stronger than a GoD when he beat Jiren. Belmod's huge confidence in Jiren going in, and the gods' amazement at Goku's increase in power with UI suggests they were both definitely in the territory of the gods.

I never liked C17 so didn't like that he was the last man standing. Also why is C18 so cringy, worrying that 17 will be sad cause he didn't have his boat... the man just saved thousands of billions of lives, who care about a boat

Toppo is likely far weaker than even Sidra, IMO. He has the same style of moves but there’s no reason to believe he’s actually strong in comparison.

Well, if we can rely on the manga, Belmod is in the upper half in terms of battle strength, and Beerus is likely the strongest. There's still room for them to say Beerus could take the likes of Jiren, but so far they've done more to imply Jiren is flat out stronger than all the GoD's than anything else. Maybe we get something more concrete when they get to Jiren in the manga?

I view Super as a collection of really cool moments. The arcs were standalone for the most part and nothing really built to the next arc like in Z. For that reason, Super worked for the most part (except power scaling, naming conventions, and animation at times).

You and I both know that whoever wins a battle royal or tournament isn't necessarily the strongest, because that's not how it works, but it's a classic convention in anime that whoever comes out on top is de facto the strongest. So when it came down to Beerus and Quitela at the end, that basically puts him in the top 2.

I figured it was handled in the manga. Beerus is the most battle tested fighter and closer to UI than the other GoD.

I'm still holding out for the real ending to all this being Goku and Beerus having a rematch, and seeing how far Goku's come since his introduction to god ki when he wins. Is that so wrong? :D

What was the episode where they were fighting in space and Whis said that if they continue fighting, they would destroy the universe? I think Beerus would probably have to push to 80-85% of his power to beat Goku, but he would still come out on top.
