How closely did the anime follow the manga for anyone who had a bit of taste for both?
It followed it pretty damned closely.
There are a few differences though, chronological order is different, plus the anime missed some information i don't know why (eg Hannes reason for being in debt to the Jaegars)
? Unless i missed something that comes up in like the first five minutes when eren is scolding him for being drunk on the job. He explained that the plague came through and many died but Hannes wife was sick with the plague as well. Then Dr. Jaeger came with medicine and saved his wife and the rest of the townsfolk.
I re-watched that section, there's a mention of the plague but no mention of his wife. Plus that piece of information was supposed to be after they graduated.
What sub did you watch? Translations vary from netflix to crunchyroll to another anime site I tried that Im blanking on.
I felt like they talked around alot of things in this latest chapter. I was hoping for a little more, but then again that's what I always feel for mangas that are released once a month.
I think the lack of romance between Eren and Mikasa is consistent with the time travel theory. I really would have expected some romantic chemistry between them by now.
They have grown up as brother and sister. Usually people don't get romantically involved in that situation. No need for weird time travel, which is basically always not what happened in any story.

Eren could be gay. Maybe likes Armin. Or more likely is that he's asexual.

lol ..
anyway there is just no room for a romance arc in these type of anime .. there might be a romance arc but i think it will not be given attention ... like FMA .. and besides they grew up as a family ..
I think the reason as mentioned is that they grew up as brother and sister so to him, he sees her as a sister but from her end, well, in the back of her mind, she loves him for everything he's done. I'm not sure if the manga will have a romantic arc or not since titans is the main thing on everyone's mind atm but who knows?
Anime every week vs manga every month. Going to catch up rather quickly unless they take breaks in the anime, fill it with shitty filler, end it prematurely or something else that's less than optimal.

seeing the quality of the animation I presume that they will divide the series in season with 12-15 ep each.

I'm hoping that they do this because I wouldn't want fillers lol
Mikasa is obsessed with Eren lol while Eren is just an idiot (your typical innocent main character in manga).
I am rereading the manga after watching anime#10, so good. Maybe the orangutan titan has some sort of magical power that transform normal human to titan rofl.
