Everyone thought you needed warriors called Claymores to fight Yoma or humans would become prey to Yoma and all die, but later on it was revealed there were isolated villages that had never heard of Yoma because Yoma are actually fairly recent and the Organization that made them simply changed history. At the very least the shape shifting human titans would be able to still live even if still in danger in Titan territory. I'm guessing there are more shape shifters than the ones we've seen. ya, true true. I dunno why I wrote with certainty lol although from what we know so far, if the walls get destroyed, we know that a lot of people will lose their lives aside from shape shifters since there have been no indication that any humans can survive in titan territory.

Man, that monkey titan is fucking creepy. Does this get released every week or are the translators really slow resulting into a per month submission? I'm guessing there is a small community consisting of human-titan hybrids and that they had a reason to do what they did. Pretty sure the human government is hiding something and is related to the cult and titans in the wall. So many questions... e: Also, his dad and the drug

I am watching the anime so I have been wondering how much of a difference is there between anime and manga? If the manga isn't waay better than anime i won't bother reading it. So could anyone tell me something about it?
Sorry if this has been asked but I am afraid of getting spoiled so I didn't read the thread and could you please PM me your opinions for the same reason, thx

So far, the anime has been faithful to the manga, the only difference being some plot points in the manga are placed differently progression-wise in the anime.

As for Manga-vs-Anime, the Anime is faithful to the manga with no major changes, but it is such a good production in terms of animation and music that I´d recommend watching the anime over reading the manga.

Thanks ^^
I think I might watch the anime, problem being that Titans were already scary enough without being animated.

In my opinion the anime IS NOT better then the manga, at all. And i agree, anime adaptations of manga are pretty much always worse.

There are quite a few exceptions, lots of animated adaptations are way better than the original source.

I was pretty surprised how such a 'bad arted' manga would be serialized in Jump but the story is very compelling indeed. Which with the technology nowadays, the anime made it all very good. Very appealing art and even better story telling from manga to anime. Shingeki #1 anime 2013 ^^

Such as? IMO the only anime worth watching are those made for the anime format, like Cowboy Bebop, etc.

Light novel adaptations tend to be very very good.
To the person who said shingeki stays faithful to the manga -- they shuffled the order a bit to make a certain event more dramatic. I do recommend people watch the anime, and then go with the manga for that, since the anime will 100% stop for a long time after this arc.

Plenty of Jump series start off with pretty rough art ... just compare the current art in Kuroko no Basuke to when it first started getting serialized. I wouldn't call the SnK art style bad, it's rough at the beginning for sure but it gets a lot better and I think it fits well with the mood of the story. (Plus the way he draws the fight scenes is just badass)

ohya guys the OST was released yesterday so you might wanna look it up! it is so good ~_~

I agree light novel adaptations are usually really good, and some manga adpatations are good, but shounene manga->anime usually goes pretty poorly for a number of reasons. I still hold by the majority of the best anime ever were made originally for that medium (NGE etc). Anyways~
Can't wait for next chapter, last 5 or so were so plot heavy hopefully we get some more good stuff
