So i very much doubt that he will play any part in the new movies. I doubt it. I suspect it is more likely he went back to the well of Hidden Fortress: you have a famed 'general' running into two bumbling peasants and together they need to escort the princess through hostile territory, and on occasion bartering their way through. Except this time there is only one bumbling peasant and the general has an apprentice.

Wasn't expecting anything from this movie until now. Now I will be disappointed again because Darth Jar Jar will not happen

Goddammit, why didn't I pull the trigger on this sooner, all I had to do was make the annoying frog guy evil and you would have gone for it? wth.

Jar Jar is the key to all of this.

Ewoks are just as cringe as Jar Jar was. In general people only see the positive things in the original movies and only the bad in the new ones. WHich doesn't mean that the new ones were good, but the old ones weren't THAT great either tbh. I always was more interested in the star wars universe than the movies.

As much as I don't like the bias, it's very natural due to expectation imo. I personally thought all the movies were great, with each episode having its own set of flaws.
That said. I still cringe at the cross-guard lightsaber everytime I see it. It basically destroys the elegant look of the lightsaber It's an abomination. >_< Sorry for the rant.

The cross-guard saber isn't half bad compared to some stuff that made it into the movies (Jar Jar, Ewoks, 200 hundred Jedi swinging their sabers at the same time, Anakin/Padme love story etc.). I'm just glad it's still a single saber and not some double-bladed one or one in each hand which was so prevalent recently... Let's just hope that Jar Jar Abrams will make it all work.

I agree with you. Personally I enjoyed the books in the EU (before Disney made them not cannon) a lot more than the movies.
I enjoy all of the movies and there are some flaws in all of them.

I always think of a show called Spaced with Simon Pegg, "Jar Jar Binks makes the Ewoks look like, fucking.. Shaft"

People think the cross guard saber is “unrealistic” but forget that Han ran out of the Falcon onto the surface of an asteroid with just breathing mask on in Empire. Or that there is some weird space race of space ship leeches. Or some giant space worm that lives in a vacuum and eats…..logic?
And realistically, all the Ewoks are dead. Endor was destroyed by the fall out and debris from the moon size battle station that exploded in orbit. The entire ecosystem was destroyed in the 2000 year rain of falling debris, all of different level of toxic radiation.
But fuck that shit, I just want to see cool space ships and laser sword fights.

Haha I just watched the videos about Darth Jar Jar, and I must say, I'm thoroughly entertained. Even if it was planned at the beginning, it won't happen now (people just hate Jar Jar too much at this point, and not in the "he's a Sith" way, in the "he's annoying" way), but I wouldn't mind at all :D.
For some reason I never saw what the big deal was with Jar Jar. He was just another of those comic relief characters for me. Like C3PO and such. I didn't like C3PO when I was a kid, but I didn't hate him either.

But of course the problems of ep 1-3 go way beyond Jar Jar. They are just straight up bad movies. The script, the dialogue, just how the characters are portrayed in general. The characters are like faceless puppets on strings, not like real persons you could care about. Did not help that both Anakin actors were awful. While 4-6 was not superb in those areas, it was at least at normal movie standard. 1-3 is barely B movie level here.

Has anyone wondered why Jar Jar would have teeth like that? I never noticed it before but look at them, that looks like the guy who practices dentistry on animals from Almost Heroes.

TBH I think that if the actually had gone with Darth Jar Jar it would have added a much needed twist to the series, atleast in my head a really cruel Jar Jar with his goofiness from ep1 could have made for a very hateable villain (in a good way).
But regarding all other stuffe like poor dialogues and characters I agree.
"From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm with you again... I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can't breath. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating... hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me... what can I do?- I will do anything you ask."

Which is ok as long as you dont assume this is about comparison to the old Star Wars movies or whatever. I simply think they are bad movies for the mentioned reasons.

Don't get me wrong, i don't think they are 'good' movies. I wouldn't call them 'bad' either though, just very mediocre, kinda average. I would rate the old ones average too though (a little bit better overall). It's just that in the star wars fandom people seem to absolutely HATE the new ones while loving the old ones, which i think is ridiculous. I actually think the new one could be the best movie out of all the star wars movies, at least i like the general direction so far (like villains with actual motives, etc)
