I personally think it would be epic as hell, and it would actually make the prequels stronger to me. Although I would have to criticize Mr. Lucas for not following up on this plot line in the prequels, I can imagine the conundrum. Here you are with probably the most anticipated movie of the decade, Jar Jar is fucking detested by those who were around for the release of the original trilogy, but a new generation of younger viewers is enamored by him. What do you do? Keep him on as a crowd-pleaser for the younger generation, or turn him into the evil BAMF you intended him to be and risk having him still be hated by older viewers and traumatizing all the younger viewers? Taking that in mind letting him return in this new trilogy as the bad guy would probably make the original trilogy a lot better for many fans, although it would somewhat undermine Darth Sidious who in my mind has been a really good antagonist for Star Wars... But wouldn't it be awesome if all this time all the not always too subtle hints that Palpatine was in fact a Sith were just to distract from the seemingly helpless guy that somehow always seems to be in his vicinity? What do you guys think? | ||

If this where to be true I do think it would be more likely he was an apprentice rather than master and that he was just replaced by Dooku. Regardless if he was the master or apprentice, this would answer the big question on why the trade-federation was attacking naboo, it was a ploy to get Jar Jar in among the jedi. Not sure if I actually believe this but as I said those comments from George Lucas and the actor makes you wonder. If this was the original plan, it is a shame they didn't go through with it because no doubt it would have been awesome. | ||
