And you should feel bad for thinking otherwise. Whenever I talk about this movie with my friend, whenever something doesn't make sense or is unexplained you just prometheus face. Which is the face the guy in the video makes the entire time he's being asked questions. It's a new emotion of stupidity and amazement. Also that HISHE video fucking amazing omfg my stomach hurt the entire time I was laughing so hard. Anyway aside from all that I really enjoyed the movie for some reason and would definitely watch again. | ||

I didn't come out of Prometheus thinking it was a great movie. Not bad, but not great. But the more I thought about it, the more I started to place what I'd seen in the framework of a Greek tragedy, and once I realized how well it fit, I've come to think of the movie as a remarkable piece of artwork. As a work of science fiction, its value is questionable, relying on a reverse Frankenstein complex as the underlying conflict (humans are the creation this time) and a lot of stupid sci-fi movie cliches (things that rapidly gain mass out of nothing, things making noise in a vaccuum, etc.) As a Greek tragedy, though, it's fantastic. So, I guess I still don't know how I feel about it because I really wanted to see a good sci-fi movie. I suppose I'll content myself with appreciating what the movie did well (a modern Greek tragedy, now in theaters!) while being irritated at the lack of really good science fiction movies. | ||

Breathable air and they remove their helmets without checking for viruses? I must assume the history of America and its discovery has been forgotten... unknown viruses are letal even if they are just stupid illnesses because we have no defense built against them. A biologist that tries to TOUCH an unknow creature? What's the point of touching it.. You don't even know if it is an aggressive carnivore, a mammal with his cubs or any other kind of potentially dangerous creature. Not to talk about the fact that it showed more than once that it was pissed at him... The only thing it would have been good for would have been a Charlize Theron nude scene, if they actually filmed it, which they didn't, because a movie whose only purpose is to show me the last scene is a waste of my time and money. It would have been better to just read the wikipedia article to know the plot. | ||

But I still loved the plot and the visuals were awesome. It still belong in the Alien lore and I will buy the blu-ray for sure! Can't wait for the sequel... =) | ||
