No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is.
Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers. |

Since "a modest proposal" is my favorite work ever and they chose that title, I have to participate. The rest of you should too. For Ponies. requoting this again, those of you guys who have twitter accounts should do this (just make at least 1 tweet, incorporating the #MyLittlePony hashtag into it), it's really not a big deal to quickly make a twitter account either if you don't have one yet (it's a good idea anyway to make one before the next shorty awards so you can help Day[9], etc. in it, as they don't accept tweets there from new accounts, but they do in this case)

Tweeted the tag twice, but I don't think we'll make it <Pessimistic Pony> UNLESS we all do it more! <Optimistic Pony> :D

The thing about the S2 pilot is it may be less effective as in an intro if it's all you have to go on. I mean, it had a much better effect on me because I knew so much about the characters and recent events leading into the episode, so I think that made the first part a lot more darker.
Honestly, I wish they made that episode 3 parts as it did feel rushed at points, but it was all they could do to make it fit into 2 segments of 22 minutes.

And the cliffhanger might get them to watch episode 2 just because, and after 2 episodes they might be hooked enough to continue on watching with more episodes from season 1.

Yeah I agree, it was still enjoyable though.
+ Show Spoiler +Finding the elements of harmony there was too easy lol, but I guess there wasn't enough time in the episode for that then considering they tried finding them for quite a while on the first part of the episode.
They could've made a full-length movie with the same storyline basically, tbh.

Episode 1 was great and really was awesome, and just like you mentioned, episode 2 felt a little bit rushed. It's still ok, but it could have been way more awesome.

This is quite true, but I'm always one for the full effect of things.
I'm tried as hell with maybe 1 hour of sleep so far. 1 more in a bit if I'm lucky and nap for a while.
I'll give things a sober second look later tonight or tomorrow and have full opinions on both episodes as well as my opinion on best intro episode.
Hell during downtime I might even do an essay-esque review on my top 5 episodes, including the S2 ones.
Anyway, to sum up the start of the season can best be done like this: + Show Spoiler +OUR CRUISERS CANNOT REPEL EPIC OF THIS MAGNETUDE

A hallmark of how fucking stellar they were is that we could easily have wanted to see a 60-minute special or as you said a short film.
As a director, you know you've done something right when it feels like a crime to restrict your work to not one, but two episodes.

Also just got all my brony friends to make twitter accounts and to start "spamming" twitter with tweets incorporating #MyLittlePony. We are going to make this. Just tweeted like 6 times myself.

I kinda miss Flutterbitch, hopefully there will be a blog featuring her

Now that the hype has worn off. Those probably weren't the best starter episodes, actually.

+ Show Spoiler +I wasn't really happy with the ending there, I would've thought they'd go for something more ironic, like the elements making him harmonious instead of just turning him to stone or something.

Everypony is now aware that + Show Spoiler +"Tom" is really Tom Riddle. That rock was Lord Voldemort all along. Please tell me I'm not the only person to have though of that.

what a crock of crap. its still my little ponies...
LOL you serious? Now I feel a lot better about my proclivity to watching anime and reading manga that have clearly more adult and mature overtones to them.
this is the definition of camp. Thank god the worlds starting to co-exist with people who are interested in different ways of relating to and enjoying life. i.e. stuff like this.
MLP is not for me, probably because of the sexual/ageist ideologies rooted in me that say I shouldn't be watching such a thing, but meh, more power to you guys.

+ Show Spoiler +So in my opinion the second epi had some good things in it, some bad things. It felt extremely rushed though and there were numerous disappointing things, Discord also wasn't interesting in this episode and the end was pretty stupid as I expected him to be able to do at least something about the harmony thingy as he was so confident but no. All in all it was pretty disappointing compared to the first episode though it had some awesome things like Flutterbitch pwning twilight. That sudden realization etc. was so rushed it kind of ruined the feel, this would have been much better as a 3-part episode.
As for my expectations for the season 2, well I have nothing. I guess we'll have to see if it's just like the first one or if there will be some significant differences.

But would you have problems watching a good slice-of-life anime with 6 22-ish year old female main characters? Actually it's really really rare to even find an anime like that that doesn't have lovelove-relationships. But I guess if you just see them as ponies it can't be helped.

Artist Milan matra, "Omamari himari", "Sekirei" "Gantz". etc. just as a direction of what I typically derive entertainment from. I'm sure I have watched a "slice of life" show or two, as a guilty pleasure, and I feel so dirty afterward. Mostly because of the upswing in the "pedo" torchburning mentality globally.
you've read the recent decisions in Japan to ban certain manga/anime by artists right? It seems like associating with shows meant for a certain demographic make you more likely to be considered a "deviant" who's existence is gross and should be removed from the gene pool.
At least, that's what I'm getting from all the societal outcry/pressure/what-have-you.
just like that video called "brownies" that was posted on the first page here... thats why I'm saying, its cool yo guys aren't slavishly following group thought.
I've also watched and enjoyed "Kannagi" and another show. who's, name I currently forget, that involved the relationship growth between a young man who's father is a drunk, a girl who's mostly sick and had to miss a year of school, and a disappearing esper-like girl who they all start forgetting, as he starts to head down a better life path from these relationships.
So what is the draw for everyone here 15-35 male that enjoys this show?
