But shouldn't he still be on the road to King's Landing? He should only arrive after the purple wedding but that is in season 4. So maybe they changed Jaime's storyline or maybe it just a random house on the road. I guess we will see.
In the books he stops at an inn on the way back and hears about Joffrey's death, but they could change that so that he hears about Robb's death instead.

I don't see any real reason/benefit to having Jaime's story line changed and having him there for the wedding so I'm just going to assume it's a random house/ pit stop on the road?

Or/and, looking at the title, in the end the whole "civilization" will be more or less destroyed and it's ice aka "the others" and fire aka dragons the only relevant remaining things, maybe each ruling one continent?
(I haven't read any of the books, but loosely followed the TV series, and do not mind getting spoiled. Sorry if some of my points are outdated.)
The storylines will touch, don't doubt that. when they touch, well, that's another story entirely.. The titular conflict is of ice and fire, after all (ASOIAF). The remaining two books to-be published are Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. Take that how you will.

It also complicates things dramatically if Jaime and Brienne arrive at Kings Landing before Littlefinger runs off with Sansa.

Seems like they are casting Mace Tyrell, the Red Viper and the Magnar of Thenn for next season with leaked audition video of Yorick van Wageningen for the Magnar. Also Ellaria Sand has been rumored. I don't think they will have Dorne scenes so far we can know.
It was like 10 chapters; not very much, he barely had time to revel in his "victory." They will have to kill him off by the 3rd or 4th episode though as Jaime + Brienne are on the way to King's Landing.

Actually, now that I think about it, you are right; we are only on Chapter 52 of 8x. I suppose that means that they will end Season 4 with Joffrey's death.
I definitely hope so; I really enjoyed Martin's imagery of the wedding and how absolutely ridiculous it was in terms of opulence, and I think at least an episode or two would be needed to show that properly.
Going through 70ish dishes before Joff chokes.
I highly doubt that their plans to do 7 seasons will work, unless they chain Martin to his chair and force him to write 24/7 until he's done.
it's never been said that the books will be done before the series - D&D know how its supposed to end so they can finish it.
I really hope the books can finish before the show. Otherwise I might have to put myself in the odd situation of not watching the rest of the show until the books are finished. As great as the show is, to me the books are just on another level in terms of how well the story is told and how developed the characters are. I would hate to complete the story by watching the show first.
Anyone else think it would be amazing to have sort of prequel seasons involving Robert's rebellion and the Blackfyre stuff if the last book isn't finished in time? I mean it would be awesome either way but I'd much rather have that than the show go further than the books.
i think children of forest and firstman story would be cool too, when the others came from forever winter the first time and brandon the builder built the wall.

I can definitely see that; hasn't every other season thus far ended with white walkers?
Technically yes, considering there have only been 2 seasons though that doesn't mean much
It would just be kind of odd to introduce Cold Hands this season and purposely leave him out of saving Sam and him telling Sam how to get thru the wall via the Black Gate. He would have to do something big for them to be willing to trust him. Perhaps he could still save Sam from wights, but delaying him til next season and then having him save Bran might make more sense.

I don't think there is room for Coldhands in this season at this point. They skipped his book introduction already and now in the previews we see that Sam encounters Bran et al. at the Nightfort and then also manages to get back to Castle Black (or at last encounters Pyp, who never left CB). If he is introduced it will be directly to Bran et al, and to gain their trust will more or less require a more meaningful either a. vision/discussion of the three eyed crow telling them to trust him or b. action sequence with him saving them.
Also, for reasons already discussed there seems to be a decent bet of an Uncat reveal in ep. 10 and they seem to be mindful of the need to keep the fantasy restrained. Two zombie characters might be a bit much to add at once.

if i recall, sam kills white walkter, his brothers hear of it, then give nickname. we might get that next episode
Well they called him that because someone else was present to attest to its validity (I.E Grenn).
maybe gilly will vouch for him or maybe he kills another one when he meets up with the brothers. i said it hasnt happened yet because i'd like it too. if i recall correctly, he killed the whitewalker during the first nights watch vs the others battle. (which he wasnt present in the show)
