How exactly would Tywin's wife getting raped on her wedding night lead to the birth of Tyrion the THIRD of Tywin's children? Or did people forget that Tyrion's birth led to the death of Tywin's wife?? Did Joanna birth Cersei and Jaimie from the grave then? What kind of monkey shit is this? It's not even theoretically possible. Aerys took liberties in the bedding cerimony, so basically copping a feel or two. Planting Tyrion in there would have happened a lot later obviously.

also, they just show how 3 guys go into Meeren and kill 10 guys, next scene they announce the city is taken... i liked the Jon and Bran/Rickon scenes much more, and i usally hate those..

I doubt that Tyrion is a Targ, although I would not put it past GRRM to make it happen. More likely is that he will end up riding a dragon because of his weight / need for vantage point.

Watching it was... awkward... It was more of an "uhh wtf..............." than an "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS" The whole scene was pretty sub-par with some exceptions (Catelyn in particular was great).

I think a big part of the reason is because you have read the books and know what is coming. The tension building up to it was amazing, but I felt the same way about the event itself (slightly underwhelmed). However, after looking at the reaction videos and all the "backlash" online, I can safely say that the Red Wedding did its job well. The tv viewers would have had the same feelings as a first time book reader. Some scenes were awkward at first viewing (like Cat just standing there shocked for 10 seconds before some random Frey slits her throat), but on second viewing you realise it was done that way for dramatic effect.

I guess how they did it made sense but for some reason I was expecting a lot more noise and chaos. I guess it was shocking enough for the nnewbies though.

I do wish they showed an oblique side-on shot of Bolton stabbing Robb through the heart though.

It's almost like you already knew what was going to happen and no longer had the same emotional investment or sense of shock!

I'm wondering if Fairley will even play Stoneheart. Given her disfigured appearance, and the fact that she does not speak would you even need the same actor? Though I would like her to, I liked her as Catelyn.

I mean they could but that ruins the shock of it all. You need more time to miss Catelyn and not expect it, thinking she's long dead. Actually, despite it not quite happening at this point in the book I'm wondering if they'll just skip right to Joffrey's death. The "Mother" title is either for Cersei's maternal fury at the sight of her son dying, or Daenery's image as a motherly figure to the liberated slaves (she's supposed to finish up her conquest of Yunkai next episode). Maybe both even..

Joffrey's death still need more development imo. It's more likely they will do both next season though.

She doesn't appear until much later one, but her actual revival could be done much soone than that. It takes away some of the surprise, but also would be much more unexpected, since less people will be spoiled and you won't have issues as the people knowing the actress was casted for that season. Joffrey's death still need more development imo. It's more likely they will do both next season though. I'm betting Joefrey dies first episode of season 4. Get all the people that stopped watching after the last episode get back into the show fast with the news of Joeffrey demise. That's how I see it. As for mother, I'm thinking more about Danny, since didn't Dario give her a a quilt of her being a virgin marie mother like woman....

This brilliant plan kind of failed when Quentin traveled over half the world only to get laughed at by Dany and then roasted by her dragons. GG great strat. At this point this entire story arc could just be cut without any impact on any of the other story lines. That was the most disappointing story arcs for me in the series. They wait so long to introduce the mysterious Quenten, and the only thing you really hear about him beforehand is how he's being groomed for an important mission. And with a mind like Doran behind it, you feel like its going to have a legitimate chance at working. And then you're finally introduced to him, and his character is so unfulfilling and unexceptional. And then he dies. Random thought about the show: why don't they ever show Tyrell guards? It seems like that would be an easy way to display Tyrell power.
