Awesome!
Also, that was a cool last scene. It did go on for a bit too long and the actor SUCKS but the cinematography was great and it was hella creepy. Also I love that "road warrior" aesthetic.

Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

The worst parts was when it tried to be more than it could be in terms of narrative depth or whatever. Now that it's a slugfest I've been having fun. The plot is ridiculous and some decisions people make are so bad it'd be frustrating if I was crazy enough to give it any thought. -Carol the killing machine suddenly snaps because killing people is too much. She leaves thinking "surely they won't follow me", and she endangers everyone. -Daryl the other killing machine, who's saved people after they've made stupid decisions, also leaves on a personal vendetta, endangering everybody's life in the process. He knows how it works. He's been put in shit situations like this and knows not to be reckless. Still does it. -Then there's the bad guys. "Resources are limited, let's orchestrate an elaborate scheme to bottleneck these people into our trap". Super absurd. The cliffhanger is dumb. And yet I think it's fine. Not the greatest episode by itself but it opens on an "interesting" antagonist. I mean what else are they going to do, more character drama? What are they going to do that they haven't done before? Run out because they're emotionally taxed? Done. Get killed by ninja walkers? Done. Find new people who turn out to be deceptive? Done. This episode was a bit disappointing but it's already stretched thin as fuck. Maybe I'm not imaginative and my low standards for TWD are silly but what do you people even want? Have you seen the south park episode on the Yelpers? Your post strongly reminded me of it xD Cliffhangers are usually annoying from episode to episode. But a season cliffhanger is the worst XD I also think it's Daryl who got hit because the actor has his motorbike show to work on.

If they did actually kill Daryl this way people would stop watching after episode 1 of the next season (unless they presented a new Daryl type from Neegan's gang that hinted that Neegan would get overthrown. Would be tough as hell to get the right actor though. Spoiled my actual take on the episode since no one else was talking about it, figured I might be stumbling on something people are worried would spur comic conversation. + Show Spoiler + Maybe people aren't talking about it because the comics suggest more or something but what about the people in the pads? Neegan's whole spiel was about them not knowing shit. It felt like a MIB locker moment where Rick and crew were supposed to realize Alexandria and the Hilltop are just pawns in a much bigger game. Basically that there have been warlords and benevolent monarchs building and fighting among themselves this whole time and groups like ricks/alexandria are just morsels.

Ill prob start reading them now. i think tv on cable is just not a good medium for this show. this show on hbo would be 10x better

It was "OK". It wasn't a brilliant masterpiece. Whoever was going to play Niggan would have been good. I would have preferred an older, chubbier looking Niggan myself. How is rick going to eat Carl's eye if his brain is splattered all over the pavement? Anyway, I disliked the entire RV plotline. It was contrived and silly. By the second roadblock it was clear they were severely outnumbered and outstrategized. It didn't make sense to continue and maybe the next road would work? No. Of course not. Somehow the Saviors knew ahead of time they wanted to go north and had blocked off every single road leading remotely in that direction ahead of time (because even with good scouting, there's no time to erect a wall of logs or a chain of zombies "on the fly". Either that, or the Saviors had simply blocked off every single road out of Alexandria... using humongous resources just to stick it to Rick, when instead they could simply have shown up on their doorstep with Glenn, Daryl, Michonne and Rosita (aka token Latina), and a humongous army (and the bulldozers used to bring the logs to flatten Alexandria's wall). I really liked Morgan in the episode, but his plotline felt completely futile. Carol is really boring and inconsistent with her whole "I don't want to kill anymore" hissyfit.

Morgan shooting that guy is the only reason I'm ok with it not being Carol catching Negan's bat with her face. Morgan being badass with the staff and willing to shoot people has the makings of a potential replacement for Rick. People seem to be their best at leading after they lose their minds and get all emo then are snapped back to reality by someone going even crazier.

If Gimple actually grew the balls to be crazy enough to kill Rick and do something like that, I would be very impressed and pleased. I have really wanted something good to come out of Morgan.

His temperament does not match negan at all. Negan is more manic in the comics. He acts like a large ham, not a grizzly war veteran. Grrr I'm gruff and tough. That's not Negan. The toughness comes naturally but he's way more of a joker/prankster. I guess what I'm trying to say is the actor lacked charisma. Trevor was awesome though. I hope we see more of him.

If there is anything that Jeffrey Dean Morgan lacks, it isn't charisma. And how do you know that the portrayal of Negan in the show wasn't intentional? That he wasn't instructed to be a little more serious while still trying to be a bit of a jokester while not to the extent of the comic version. I can see why they would do it. Either way, I like this Negan.

I mean the comparison is silly, sure - even if it had been the best performance ever it wouldn't match up to a great actor in a AAA movie with a good plot like The Dark Knight. I mean at the end of the day the actor is given some lines that he has to deliver in a certain context and the context of the last bit of this episode was just absurd. He did great given the circumstances.
