Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

I'm with you on the stupidity across the whole episode but this particular part sticks out to me
I say we're about to see why it's not really a convenient get out of jail free card since it requires a few things to work, one of which being to be quiet. The kid is dead the moment the next episode starts and is going to get at least one other person killed because no one thought to gag the obviously scared kid

The stupid morons who gave their guns to the Wolves guy. I mean just shoot him in the head. He isn't going to slash her throat before the shot kills him. So dumb.
And that's not to mention the utter stupidity of Morgan.
The whole cover yourself in a bit of zombie blood and they can't detect us thing has well and truly jumped the shark. It's a way too convenient get out of jail free card.
This season has been pretty disappointing. It's not season two bad but it's not much better. Feels like the story has really stalled and they're padding the episodes out with a lot of bullshit to try cover it up. i wish they'd have fewer episodes in a season and invest in quality over quantity,
While I agree that just putting down the guns is stupid, shooting him in the head also would be pretty stupid in the real world.
There is a spot that trained snipers aim for which causes your body to just drop, but its not an easy target, there is a good chance that the targets muscles will seize if you miss it, if they were holding a gun to someone's head that could mean they pull the trigger, or if holding a knife to someone's throat they could rip it across. It's an involuntary response, but its why when you see hostage stand-offs with snipers they don't just pick the hostage taker off straight away and often wait a while, they need to be absolutely sure they can hit that spot before they are authorised to shoot. They also usually want to give them a chance to surrender of course.
I will cede that isn't information most people are likely to know, and so a TV show could get away with that, especially when you consider the disregard the show has for any kind of sense. Why he didn't just pick up the gun and shoot them all I honestly don't know, maybe not to attract attention but that scene was just god awful and the last few episodes have really started to sink back into the pits for me.

Am I a terrible person for rejoicing about what is probably gonna happen to that scared kid at the end? :o
It's all her mom's fault for making him into that weak, scared shit completely detached from reality and I think it's a great illustration of how wrong it is for people to try to over-protect their kids from any sort of danger or even dangerous ideas. This is the same kind of parenting that lead to students suing their schools when their law teacher is making a course on rape law because it makes them uncomfortable or it shocks them to talk about rape (this actually happened guys...). As soon as their flawed vision of what the world should be is challenged they feel distressed and offended and want to make the others change instead of adapting. It's nice that the show is depicting what kind of extreme aberration this parenting mentality could lead to. And kids can and will accept the hard truth, even very young, in hunter tribes the kids participate in the hunt and even skinning of animals and they are perfectly comfortable with notions of predators / death / danger.
I like it when a show makes me think of those things xD

I know last episode wasnt perfect but dat after credits scene O.o
Also am I the only one around here who actually LOVES Morgan?

I don't know how you can like Morgan. I can't really understand his character development. He meets this Eastman guy and he blindly follows all his philosophy and principle of 'all life is precious' almost immediately. Then he is certain he can turn any 'bad' man into good just because Eastman did that with him once. He is like Gabriel+religion all over again. But at least it seems like Gabriel is opening his eyes, while Morgan looks like 2(?) years of zombie apocalypse didn't teach him anything (in terms of psychology/behaviour). His fighting skills are cool but that's it.

Heard that name before and it's a comic book spoiler. So ya... don't click spoiler.

Could you know who or what it was without having read the comics?

Nope. Pretty sure they didn't even say his name in the after credits scene, just showed him.

Definitely, if you watch Talking Dead. Which seems like most people here don't as they almost always ask questions directly addressed on it.

BOOK SPOILER + Show Spoiler +Negan is super Governor on steroids. He basically controls DC, and he owns a barb wire entwined baseball bat he lovingly calls lucille, which he uses in his intro to kill glenn

at first i thought giving the guns to the wolf was dumb but i think i know what they're getting at, none of the people there except knocked out Carol was part of the badass " we've been through it all " group, so it's a way to show the difference of the groups i guess

Or it's because the plot demanded it. Both the girls with guns were supposed to be level headed people that cared about everyone.

I have watched season5 now within 2 days. Definitely the weakest season, incredibly different to other 4 seasons. Zero tension until they found the new stronghold.
Rick is the most unpopular person in s5 for me. I very liked him in all other seasons.

I like how the Talking Dead's entire premise is to try and fabricate how much depth is in an episode when it was just AMC just making room for Negan.
