You could also really tell the difference between last week's episode with Merle, and this finale, in regards to writing. Hopefully Scott Gimple can turn this show around. Glen Mezzara fucking blows. I wish I shared your optimism. Apart from the final, rather emotional, scene between Walker Merle and Daryl, I thought last week was pretty dire as well. Maybe he was painted in to a corner, but the whole thing where the previously silent Michone talks Merle out of being an asshole and in to sacrificing himself for the greater good...it was just weak. Maybe Gimple can improve things when he can work on his own and not chip in every now and then when the damage has already been done.

This season was far better then last season. Theres no contest about that. This finale though? This was one of the weakest finales I've seen in awhile. The attack on the prison was poorly done and didn't last long at all. Only one series regular dying was weak when myself and alot of other people were hoping for at least 2 or 3. I hoped Carol would die because she is useless and a pointless character. Also, we don't even get the satisfaction of seeing the Governor get killed by someone in the group. He just goes even more crazy and kills his entire force besides 3 people and 1 he doesn't even know about or maybe he does. The only few good things I liked about this "finale" is that Tyreese is with the group now at the prison and that Carl is turning into a dick which is a huge step up from last season I would say. Overall, I'd give this "finale" a 5/10

The Gov+mob entering the tunnels and running out like scared sheep was hilarious though. The gov mass shooting them was the only real surprise in the last chapters. This will make GoT season look even better :D

Definitely agree. I was extremely disappointed in TWD, because the other two Season finales were so good.

Initially he was probably going to sacrifice Michonne regardless. Her talk just caused him to spare her. I saw Daryl as the clincher with regards to him willing to put his life on the line. If you think about it, Merle was a pretty sad character behind his asshole exterior. He couldn't go back to Woodbury, and he felt like an outcast in Rick's group, all he felt like he had left in the world was Daryl. However, in some ways he didn't even have that; Daryl, unlike him, grew as a person despite having a similar background and was actually accepted within the group. So at the end of the day it was just Merle and the zombies left in the world, which I think the writers were hinting at during the scene where he's casually having a drink in a car surrounded by Zombies. You see that's actually good writing. This episode is shit.

Maybe it left something to be desired since it just cut off with no satisfying resolution to the Governor's story, but I don't see how it warrants this much hate. + Show Spoiler + The season has been building to an epic war between the governors forces and the main characters. When it finally happened it lasted for like 5 minutes with everyone missing every shot and the governors forces somehow being surprised that the main characters would acually fight back so they just ran off and started whining about going back home lol? It was so retarded im glad the governor shot all of them down. -> then the governors buddies watched him kill all of those people and decided not to shoot him? That also made no sense to me. Also glenn and maggie taking their helmets off and started celebrating seconds after the gov left was stupid and seemed super dangerous. The parts with andrea were also retarded why would she take that much time just looking at milton and chatting with him, and then getting serious about the pliers when he finally turned, again made no sense and i gringed so hard at everyone of those scenes. Glad she's dead but tbh almost everyone hated her anyways so i don't think her death didn't affect people that much. I'm not sure what was the point of the Carl shooting the young guy scene was. I think he made the right call seeing as the guy didn't put his gun down but instead slowly started to walk towards carl and saying some random shit. When someone points a gun at you and says drop your gun you just drop it immediately. They made Carl seem like he didn't do the right thing even though i think he did. IMO the governor should be dead by now. The show needed to move on and i think everyone expected the governor to die this episode and he really should have. In my opinion we have seen enough of him already. I can't find many positive things to say about this episode tbh ![]()

Carl is once again giving us reasons to hate him. I hope someone will beat him up soon. I don't want the repeat of season 2 where he was constantly doing stupid things and no one punished him for it. Andrea is finally dead and that's good. She was a really annoying character. Since we're not going to see her anymore I wanted to say something good about her now but I can't. It's not like the actress played poorly or anything, I just couldn't find anything likeable in her character. Episodes like the one with Merle's death rekindle my hopes but then the show just keeps disappointing. I wasn't sure if I want to keep watching The Walking Dead and the finale didn't help me to decide. It was average, not bad enough to let me quit watching the show without remorse but also not good enough to make me wait eagerly for the next season.

I mean, he was told to drop the gun, reasonably sure a cop in today's world would shoot you if you were all "take it *angles shotgun towards officer." Also that kid was running point right before they got ambushed. He was a willing enough combatant when they had a legion. I also wondered why, even in the face of him expending all his ammo Martinez wouldn't kill the governor? i mean followers follow but his analogous counterpart Daryl would totally of put Rick down. Plus where the hell did they go? Andrea finally managed to kill herself. awesome! I too liked Milton - decent chap made better by his eating habits. The adding of a bunch of fodder should give plenty to the bloodthirsty crowd next season. All in all the finale definitely left me wanting but i don't believe it was so bad as people make out here. I will tune in again. Yeah, forgot about the carl incident too which was annoying. They just keep making drama out of nothing. If someone previously hostile is given clear instructions multiple times, and ample time to carry them out and simply doesn't in over 10-15s, then you're left with a guy who is still holding a gun and has refused to drop it. Despite the shortcomings of this finale I'll give them the benefit of the doubt the guy playing the kid that Carl shot was just a bad actor and failed to portray someone harmless and actually putting their gun down, because he definitely seemed shady as fuck with how he was handling the gun. If he was more convincing the scenes between Herschel Rick and Carl would have been much more reasonable.
