Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

The amount of people that don't have the stomach for anything that isn't some form of superlative is really annoying. Get off AMC's dick and join the rest of the world that has opinions.
That's totally fine by me. I agree 100% with the shit about Carl and Lori. But then people complain about like 10 different things about the season finale, ranging from the fact that Daryl is riding a motorcycle to the way zombies magically show up sometimes. I just asked a simple question and I get bitched at hardcore for nothing and accused of dry humping AMC.
Calm down dude.

I read the last ten pages or so and nobody mentions Hershels jesus passage? Come on guys, it was hilarious! =D

This episode was a combination of some of the worst and some of the best this series has to offer. I feel really annoyed about some of the acting and the writing but ultimately the show is still really fun to watch.
I really liked Rick's speech (+ Show Spoiler +though this would have been a perfect time for the "We are the walking dead" speech from the comics ) , though some of the writing was a little hokey like Lori and Carl acting absolutely retarded about Shane was pretty dumb, the speech itself and the meaning behind it was pretty good. It was definitely foreshadowing Rick's transformation as a person.
The ending was sooooooo hype, I can't wait for the fall.

Who was that? I didn't see that in the tv series or maybe I just missed it.
But yeah, Daryl has some of the worst acting <_____<, although I don't mind him as a character I guess. They ended the series on a good note, will be interesting to see if they continue following the story line of the comic book.

The most recent episode was so f*cking great. I was cheesing for a good ten minutes after the episode was over. Michonne showing up with her zombie pets and her katana. The prison in the distance. If the next season is anything like it should be then my god I will definitely be watching. as for everyone being infected. My theory is that it's similar to the way a Komodo Dragon kills it's prey. In that it's not the bite itself that kills but all the bacteria and germs within the mouth of the creature creating a kind of venom that eventually kills the prey. As you can imagine a zombies mouth is likely filled with all kinds of nasty things. I would theorize that the zombie virus can only take hold once the person completely ceases to live and the immune system is no longer able to keep the virus at bay. As to why the virus only affects humans I read a post suggesting chemical warfare gone awry and I would have to agree with that myself. Supporting that theory imo is in one of the first episodes when Shane is in the hospital with rick when the Army was clearing it out, this was presumably not late in the outbreak. So assuming it was early in the outbreak why was the Army in this little town. It seemed from the first few episodes that the Government was attempting to enact some kind of plan, which was of course ruined by zombies. She must have tamed the zombies somehow. Or maybe she feeds them animals or possibly even survivors she finds. Fucking so excited for the next season.

Finale was meh for me, compared to the last couple episodes. When those two characters died, I literally did not know who they were. Once I remembered, I thought "Oh, they were still alive?". In a way I was depressed that no major characters died, it felt like sort of a copout to have this huge zombie massacre with no relevant casualties.
The end scene, I only realized what they were showing because of the spoilers in this thread. Don't you guys think it would have been more effective if there were a couple of lights on, or cars parked, or something to indicate life? I mean...it was just a building. Maybe it got the comic fans hyped, but normal viewers won't have a clue what it means.

Damn, those survivors should really form a Counter Strike team!

edit: And Zooper sorry if I lashed out at you specifically but there are literally 2 or 3 people every week that give that exact same line. "if you don't like the show would you please stop watching ffs." It's getting really tiring and doesn't promote any kind of interesting discussion in this topic.

Oh god, Carl is literally the worst actor on the planet. When he cried when Rick was talking about killing Shane to the group I literally slapped my forehead and sighed. That and his obsession with "finding mom" was really stupid. I really wish they'd have him be affected by what's going on around him instead of staying a 100% sheltered kid that doesn't seem to realize the situation he's in.
I realize that some of the poor writing attributes to his acting, but seriously, that kid needs work. Didn't he star in something else? I remember recognizing him and thinking he wasn't as bad as he is.
And yeah, Daryl is definitely one of the better acted characters, most of the stuff that's eye-roll-worthy from him usually comes from the poorly-written dialogue and less from his acting.
Lori's acting when Carl was "missing" was atrocious too.
Overall though, I really do love this show and I have SO many high hopes for next season.
And whoever mentioned that normal viewers wouldn't recognize what the building was... It's a huge building with gates around it that would be easily fortified which is exactly the place Rick kept talking about trying to find. You don't really have to realize what it is to appreciate where they're going with it.

Lori actually really does deserve to get eaten alive by monsters, slowly and painfully.
She doesn't watch her son well enough that he isn't able to slip out of her sight any-goddamn-time he pleases, it seems. So the fact that Carl was even anywhere near Shane that night is at least halfway her fault.
She tells Rick that Shane is a threat, while telling Shane she kind of loved him (y'know, just to help his morale). Again, completely self-righteous BS. Sleep with two men, simultaneously tell both men you have love for them, then absolve yourself of the consequences. Right on.
She seems mad at Rick for keeping Jenner's secret, but she certainly didn't have any problems keeping everything about Shane a secret from Rick for as along as possible. That's probably Shane's baby she's carrying, stupid hillbilly tramp that she is.
But none of this matters, because Rick actually tells her the cold-hard truth (something she has a hard time doing) about Carl shooting zombie-Shane... and despite having no clue about the circumstances, she thinks that one basic fact gives her the right to be all offended and indignant -- as if he is some kind of unspeakably terrible parent -- when he actually saved Carl's life despite her total negligence. When she gives Rick that look, I really wish he would've just slapped her. Hard. I'd never argue for domestic abuse, but Lori is a seriously evil, self-righteous woman.
Next season, I want that to be the first scene. Show Rick thinking to himself, then he says, "You know what?", finds Lori somewhere, and just slaps her stupid face. And then asks her for a defacto divorce -- and good luck keeping that baby alive cuz it ain't mine, biaaaaaatch.
This show used to be about hating Shane. Now it's about hating Lori. I really want to see some zombies eat her from the toes up.

Meh... I haven't read the comics and my first thought was, that the ninja was Merle =( OK Lori, Carl and Carol are still alive and Shane is dead (me = disappointed), at least Rick seems to grow up and may be a true Leader in Season 3. Oh and finally Glenn said it "<3". All in all this Season was average at all, with episode 12 and the first 30 minutes of episode 13 being good. I mean nothing really happened, they were finding a Farm and sitting there all day long. Nothing new about the Infection or anything else. Only the Shane - Rick thing with an end that I didn't liked (would have been better imo if he would have left them. I mean he was a character which would have been able to stay alive on his own.). Well without the Farm and Rick starting to get interesting I am looking forward for Season 3 and hope that I won't get disappointed like this Season.

Finale was overall pretty good, but there was really no "bang" to wrap it up. Also Lori's reaction made no sense whatsoever lol
Finally, that Michone or whatever character looks fucking ridiculous. Two chained up zomies? I'm expected to believe that just because they don't have arms that they don't want to eat her, when we've seen much much worse? And katana, really lol? Some things translate well from comics to TV/movies, some don't. This is definitly the latter.

Other than those two, ending was awesome for me. Well maybe I'd be a bit more happy if Adrea was killed (never got over her bitchiness)
+ Show Spoiler +In the comics, Lori does die, yes. Carl doesn't.
