Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

If Rick was immune, i'm sure Jenner would have tried a little harder to stay alive considering that he was trying to find a cure using subject TS-19.

BTW, all this talking about zombie herd behavior makes me realize they're not at all that stupid. Yeah they won't be able to split drones perfectly but there's definitely a spark of intelligence there. I mean how can they differentiate between normal zombie behavior and sound to that of living people?
And I just figured out one of the reasons I like the comics so much better than the show. There was more time devoted to characters OTHER than Shane/Rick/Lori. Glenn/Maggie was one of the big relationships in the comics. Andrea and Carol were actually sympathetic and likable characters. Every character, however minor, were givena chance to convey how they were coping with the apocalypse. I realize they can't do that for the TV series but if they could just cut back on Rick/Lori/Shane/Carl this series would be so much closer to what the comics were/are.

Zombies use smell to tell the difference between someone that is human and already a zombie.
I think the best scene of Season 2 was Shane opening the barn back when they found Sophia.

the one character im hoping for is Michonne, she is such a badass in the comics

Have you ever come up with a reason why sometime you go to a coffee shop and find an old friend, but sometimes, you go to a coffee shop and don't find an old friend? I'll give you a hint: life isn't symmetrical. Also, it isn't real life. It is a show with zombies. Sometimes you have to use your imagination. That's nonsense, that means you can't be critical no matter what happens. "Because Zombies" isn't a valid reason. I agree that there doesn't need to be a specific reason to this situation, but just saying that they can get away with anything because there's Zombies in isn't right.
Not what I am saying. I mean this show hasn't been perfect, and clear contradictions take away from the experience. But this specific example you are talking about, there could be millions of possible and realistic explanations (some already mentioned in the past 2-3 pages of this thread).
I interpreted it as every time you make some noise like a gun shot, you draw walkers toward you. But after a while, they lose track and mindlessly walk about again. Recurring events like this eventually draw them close enough such that they can pick up on the smell/farm animals/etc and hence be on an all out attack.

If they don't reveal what Jenner said next episode I'm going to flip a fucking table. You know what I think will happen? The 30 guys that are in the other group with the heavy weapons will come by during the zombie herd attacking the farm.

It would make the show feel so unrealistic in a funny way. Carl's gun shot for some reason attracts that herd of zombies when a thousand other gun shots didnt. and at that exact same time, the thirty gangbangers come. Preferably with merle

Did i miss an episode? What did happen that they suddenly start to move into the house and run patrols etc? A random walker? They sat on their asses on that farm for like weeks and did nothing and then a random walker shows up and they start to fortify the farm? WTF?
And then ofcourse a random army of walkers show up. Their spidey senses mustve been tingling to suspect those walkers showing up.
Why are these writers SO stupid? They arent even trying!
That beeing said , im still enjoying the show somehow.... i didnt read the last 10 pages of this thread but i totally agree with this post... it just makes no sense.. they are on the farm for weeks and now suddenly, theres a massive amount of walkers in the forest right beside the farm? its in viewing distance... seriously, this show is so poorly written, it nearly hurts. there are so many plot holes and illogical events in each single episode... its sad. i really hope there wont be a 3rd season. such a disappointment after the 1st season

even though I believe Jenner said to Rick they were all infected, I still dont understand why he would suicide by then? He stopped his research because he lost his last virus sample when his lab got destroyed...I dont understand why he would commit suicide now that he had a whole bunch of walking virus loll

The lab was out of power, samples or not, the lab would be gone. Jenner had given up in his heart long before the explosion. Think of it as being tired and wanting to see his wife again (I think anyway)

Looks like they're trying to make the whole idea that you turn into a walker even if you weren't bit/scratched a "big season finale reveal" (based on the conversation between Rick and Shane about 2 dead cops and now Daryl and Glenn finding Randal who died from a neck snap) ? So I guess the speculations about what Jenner whispered Rick turned out to be true.
However, it just.. Doesn't seem all that shocking.. I suppose survivors never had any clue (except for Rick), but it doesn't really change anything. It is dramatic in a sense that there's even less hope now etc. etc. and I guess it will allow Rick to give THE season ending speech + Show Spoiler +I mean the "We ARE the walking dead" one , but still.. For any zombie movie fan it is sort of a common knowledge that it's just how it works. Really great episode tho.

An episode earlier in season had the same thing on the highway. Its just bad luck for the group that the "herds" generally find their way to them

Doesn't make sense that what Jenner told him was that they're infected and will turn when they die. He didn't expect Shane to become a walker and was genuienuly (WTF spelling?) suprised when it happened. Also it doesn't make any sense. When people died prior in the Walking Dead without taken a shot to the head they didn't seem to turn but were buried as a whole.

From a survival standpoint, isn't it much more uplifting to know that a bite or scratch won't turn you? Personally, I don't care too much what happens to my body after I'm dead, I'd just be happy to know that I have a higher chance of surviving. Plus, the fact that the infection is carried in living people means that a cure might still be possible. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see all the big drama behind the "we are the walking dead" stuff. Learning that would give me hope.

Amy took all night, after all. Or maybe he was surprised his son just shot Shane in the face.

yeah, been thinking about this too. he was maybe just caught in the moment of shock, seeing his son having witnessed him murdering his best friend and sort of "uncle figure" for carl. might not have expected him to turn this quickly.
*edit* even if those that have died prior to the current events havent been shot in the head. they were buried. maybe they turned but are just writhing in their graves now unable to get out because of the 6 feet or soil above them? :-D scary thought!
