Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

Plus, the fact that the infection is carried in living people means that a cure might still be possible. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see all the big drama behind the "we are the walking dead" stuff. Learning that would give me hope.
I don't know that you have any higher survival standpoint if you get scratched or bit. Especially bit. Maybe scratched you might survive if they find some fantastic antibiotics but you have to remember that the thing scratching/biting you is a walking dead person. A walking cesspool of diseases. I wouldn't want to get scratched, could end up needing to lose a limb. I certainly wouldn't want to get bit. Almost certain death.

Jenners says that the speed at which one turns can greatly vary.
Recordings have been from as close as like 4 minutes to 8 hours. Who knows? The time coudl've easily been more then 5 minutes so shane turning isnt a plothole.

Also, getting bit kills you, gives you fever and you'll die.
Didnt you watch season one? explained there. Scratches are unsure, but hey, like the post above, I wouldn't want to be touched by that shit. ;d

the important thing is that he is finally dead

The more I think about it the more I agree that Shane probably wanted to Rick to kill him. If he had planned to frame Randal for Rick's murder he would have gone in the direction where he left Randal's body instead it seemed like they went the opposite direction. Daryl and Glenn found the area where the struggle happened and where Shane ran his head into the tree. Either that or it was just another TWD plot hole.

The last scene with the boy (who I think is underperforming actingwise) was kind of terrible. It is further proof that the writers will do anything to create dramatic and "tense" scenes with little to no logic involved. 2nd season has been a dissappointment so far, lets hope the finale is good.

I have one problem with the theory that jenner/scientist told rick that the virus was airborn and not from the bites:
Why then did he throw a tantrum after losing his wife's tissue samples? He said in a monologue that he needed preserved or living tissue with the virus to work with and not long dead tissue. If he knew the virus was airborn he probably is also infected and could use his own blood samples.
Also, if the bites only give you a bad bacterial infection that kills you as stated in other posts, did no one seek medical help? I would think that there are antibiotics strong enough to handle really narly infections if the virus really plays no role in killing you.

Good medical help and a wealth of antibiotics to fight infections sadly aren't a luxury of the post-apocalyptic zombie universe.

I'm sure many people sought medical attention, far too many to handle while all of mankind was being overrun. Also, antibiotics can't solve everything.

+ Show Spoiler +wow just finished watching the newest episode, the show is like a completely different story than the book and it's not too bad tbg but still i prefer the books more

what about those flashback that showed up while rick was crying. Was that meant to show Shane's Transformation? Because the camera lies on Shane between those mentioned Flashbacks

I don't think it's Shane transformation, because he was dead already, which means his brains didn't work and zombies shouldn't be able to think or dream. I'm pretty sure it's from Rick, just gotta find out what exactly was that flashback.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a flashback, just flashes to the oncoming herd that heard all the shouting/gun shots.

There are bacteria on this planet already that are getting resistant to antibiotics. If some weak ass shit like tuberculosis is resistant I'm guessing the bacteria from a zombie isn't too scared of a bit of penicillin.

I thought that was to show the transformation of Shane. Director didn't do a good job of explaining that but i'm pretty sure that's what was meant by it.

I hope its something twisted and evil as we need a shane 2.0

For those wondering what a herd is and why the last episode ended as it did with a herd you can read the following spoiler from the comics. Warning strong language contained in the quote. There's isn't really anything else spoilery in the spoiler, I don't mention who is talking or who they're talking to, it's pretty much just a straight up definition of what a herd is according to the comics.
+ Show Spoiler +"That shot I just fired was heard in all directions for a long damn distance. Two miles? Three? Fuck if I know -- but a damn long way. Let me tell you how the world works since you fuckers don't seem to have been paying attention for the last goddamn year of hell on Earth we've all been living. Every rotting dead-alive fuck who just heard that is going to get up and start following that sound. That sound means people -- and people means meat. Some of them are close, and may actually make it to this area, since you've decided on a stationary camp -- that's the problem. Most of them can't walk a straight line and are dumb as a post -- they'll lose interest or walk off in the wrong damn direction. But sometimes... Not every time... one will walk by another one--and that one will get up and follow. Then they'll meet more, and more and more and more. you see where I'm going? They'' form a big group--and sometimes these groups will encounter another group--and they'll merge. What you end up with is hundreds of these undead fucks--walking, nonstop, following a sound they've all forgotten. They're walking because everyone else is walking and everyone else is walking because they're walking, they're stupid as fuck. But these massive groups of roaming zombies, diod you call them roamers? That's cool. These fucking groups are called herds. At least that's what we call them. They're bad fucking news."

That was a very nice read on that post. Glad you tagged it appropriately as well.
Thanks!

I'm pretty disappointed that Shane died. He was the one that took radical decision. In a zombie world, you can't live like you've been living you whole life and Shane quickly got that. Now only darell is left. I don't really like the Rick character, he often makes stupid call and his speech are almost religious. I hope the show will develop more into a survival thing and finding others than just hide a pregnant women and rabble about internal conflicts in the group.
