I thought the last 30 minutes were good. Everything leading up to the encounter with the guys in the bar was trash. Same people making stupid irrational decisions. Hershel going into town alone to drink, Carol going into the woods to do god knows what alone, and worlds' dumbest character Lori getting herself damn near killed. But that last scene made this episode worth it imo. Hopefully there are more scenes like that.

Yeah he drops those guys like its nothing, to bad there aggressors i was hopping to have some new people around. Maybe they will let this season play more into meeting other groups while avoiding walkers. I think it has such good story potential and allows the writers to expand the background story more through tales of others. Other wise i'm satisfied with this.

Hershel's monologue blew, I don't know when those guys entered the saloon but from that point on it was quality television. If they have one moment of extreme tension like that every week I might get excited for the next season. They don't have to do it the same way, and hopefully they don't overdo the rival factions type of conflict before they get to some of the best source material, but they need more moments like that where your heart is racing.

I thought it was a really sub-par episode (maybe the worst) until the two guys showed up at the bar and that whole part of it was really done well, even though it had absolutely nothing to do with zombies. Turned into a western but it was still the best part of the episode.

Kinda sad they had to get killed off though, the avg acting talent of those scenes was way above the normal for the show.

Books turned into movies. Comic books turned into shows. Whatever. Its NOT going to be the same as the original source. People need to realize that. Sure, there are going to be the same stuff from the original source, but there WILL be different shit. Enjoy it for what it is, if you are expecting to much because you read the book/comic book, then just stop. Sit back, and just watch. People are WAY to critical of Walking Dead. But, a few bad apples is not enough apparently to stop the show because it will have a third season.

I just hate people like this. Expect way to much and hate on something because its not the same.

Good 1st episode for the 2nd half, already plenty of storylines and things needing to get done for the next 5 episodes. Shane is still acting up, Lori doesn't know to when let well enough alone, Rick is having a crisis of leadership, Maggie and Glenn are confused, Hershel realized he was an ass, Daryl is brooding as usual, and the two groups in general have to either join or disentangle somehow.

Yeah its a shame they killed off the one guy who was talking about Nebraska. I think he was more intriguing in those 10 minutes than anyone else on the show has been thus far. I was hoping fattie would get killed and the other guy would be able to escape and bring word back to his people, but maybe its too early in the arc to have a full on engagement. If they can pull that scene off well though, I have some hope. Problem is everything else is still really bad.
