Was about to post Tropa de Elite 1 & 2. I love the movies especially with them being based in my home country. I own the DVD and they do not have the english subtitles (maybe cause I bought in Brasil) so you might have to get the .srt files online and watch the DVD on the PC
+1 for trailer park boys, can't speak of the movie, but I've seen the series and it is amazing.
There are 2 movies Trailer Park Boys: the Movie and Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day. The second one, Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day, is the better of the two.
Not going to lie, some people's taste on this thread concerns me as a human. Additionally I posted this on the recently viewed thread but I really meant it to be here as I saw the movie like 4 years ago.
+2 cool points if you have even heard of it +10 if you have seen it.
Such an awesome mashup of genres...you'll go from laughing to disturbed in mere seconds.
Guys, reading through this thread used to be a great source for finding hidden gems. Could you please refrain from posting blockbuster movies here? (both old and new) How the fuck is Leon a hidden gem? Or the likes of Cube and Shutter Island?

They hide behind the other line "Surprisingly good movies/". I think it's despicable but not much that can be done.

Bangkok Dangerous- (The original Thai version)... The Nicolas Cage remake wasnt too bad but the original is way better imo. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0263101

Manit0u, if you have read the other 61 pages, it has been mentioned 3 times that people are misunderstanding the meaning of 'hidden gem' in this blog. Hidden gem in this blog doesn't refer to movies that aren't mainstream that people have found... It refers to movies that people may have doubted, but after watching them, they think the movie is amazing. So Leon the Professional, for me was one of those... Maybe if you'd checked the rest of the pages and actually read time and time again the true meaning of this thread, I wouldn't have to be the 4th person to explain it to you

Don't watch it if you have anything to do for the rest of the day, because the movie will **** you up emotionally. There are more informative documentaries about the subject of the Catholic Church's cover-ups of their priest's pedophelia, but this one is, beyond all others, the most riveting. It's just extremely well made. The first half-hour might seem like any straight-forward documentary, but then it subtly turns and your heart strings will be ripped out of you.
Planet B-Boy and Scratch are two absolutely awesome pseudo-documentary/biographical movies. The insight on hip-hop culture in them is quite educational.
When Robert, an inanimate tire, discovers his destructive telepathic powers, he soon sets his sights on a desert town; in particular, a mysterious woman becomes his obsession. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1612774/
