Network (1976) - A TV network cynically exploits a deranged ex-TV anchor's ravings and revelations about the media for their own profit.

I have become bored of all the new films that are coming to theaters and I started watching old movies. The movie above is a statement of truth about our current world media. I was shocked that even though the movie is from 1976 the information contained still apply to this day. You can learn a lot from watching it. It has one of the best acting I've ever seen. You will not be disappointed.

These movies are all awesome, I love this thread. Haven't read all 47 pages yet, but I think this one has not been up yet:

It is exactly what it says it is, I enjoyed every minute of it ^^.

And I accidently came across this one, I don't know if it's a popular film, but it sure is great.

Great mindfuck, keeps you watch the whole time (I actually kept attention for this while it was 3.00 AM).

Joe is a hustler that moves from Texas to New York in order to make money as a gigolo. Though it's hard finding women that are willing to pay him for his services. He meets Rizzo who promises to set him up with a big pimp, but instead tricks him out of 20$. Alone and without money Joe starts wandering the streets. He gets reminded of sexual abuse that took place during his upbringing, as well as other traumatic events, while he tries to figure out what to do next.

It's a great solid story, free of witty remarks and full of great characters and cinematography. Dustin Hoffman and John Voight are amazing, not to mention the director who does a fantastic job with setting up shots and editing scenes to make them more interesting and open for interpretation. Check it out, you won't regret it.

I used the search feature and amazingly, nobody has mentioned this one. It's easily one of the top 10 movies I've ever seen.

Very few people have heard of it, but it was pretty damn good. One of those movies that has an interchangable villain and hero, makes you want to cheer for both sides

Just watched this movie.

And I hate it so hard, like you wouldn't believe. It's not particulary a bad movie, it's just so aggravating, I've never wanted to smash someone I don't know so hard in my entire life. Holy jesus I am so pissed right now.

Wish I didn't see it.

I honestly couldn't stand watching Hard Candy. I don't know what it was about the movie, but I lost interest in the beginning and gained a little throughout, but not enough.
I was forced to go to A-Team with a friend and it was what I wasn't expecting: funny, original, and actiony (if that's a word...) Anyone else surprised by A-Team?

I never ever heard of this movie and it was so amazing - Love the mix between fairy tale and sci-fi..

Thank you to who ever posted this in this thread, I would never have known about it, otherwise.

Same, it got me more and more annoyed as it went on without really catching my attention. At the end I was just glad it finished. Redundant and silly.

I just watched Kikujiro

I haven´t been able to cry since I was eight years old... I cried like 5 times during this movie.
I hope everyone in the world could see this movie.

Awesome.

Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world.

Same director as Pi, Requiem for a Dream. Incredible visual effects and photography, along with great acting and storyline

1997, Captain Nascimento has to find a substitute for his occupation while trying to take down drug dealers and criminals before the Pope comes to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

More of a 'hidden gem' I think, breathtakingly realistic

A lovelorn screenwriter turns to his less talented twin brother for help when his efforts to adapt a non-fiction book go nowhere.

Maybe not as well known as Charlie Kaufman's other movies, but enjoyable nonetheless

At the offices of a Japanese corporation, during a party, a woman, who's evidently a professional mistress, is found dead, apparently after some rough sex. Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes try to find the murderer.

Coen brothers at their finest.

Murder by death Imdb: 7.3

Five famous literary detective characters and their sidekicks are invited to a bizarre mansion to solve an even stranger mystery. Extremely funny... Mute deaf cook meets blind butler

Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels Imdb: 8.1
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120735/
Four London working class stiffs pool their money to put one in a high stakes card game, but things go wrong and they end up owing half a million pounds and having one week to come up with the cash. - Kind of a predecessor for Snatch with Brat Pit think this one is better though...
It followed me home, can I keep it?
