Oldboy. Enough said.

Sooooo true.

I dont think this is very unknown but if someone hasn't seen this you should definitely watch it!

One of greatest movies in my top10.

I also suggest Darren Aronofsky for all those who like epic, high quality story, thinking, psychology, drama, tragedy kind of movies.
He is genious.

Requiem for a dream

The Fountain
The Wrestler

Haven't seen these mentioned, and I consider them somewhat 'underground' as I have run into few who have seen them:

The Attic Expeditions

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118652/

"Trevor is a young man who has been sentenced to a long stay in a mental hospital after brutally killing his girlfriend. However, the longer Trevor is in stir, the more he wonders if the murder ever really happened, or if it's all just a horrible fantasy implanted in his brain by Dr. Ek, the sinister director of the asylum. "

Very, very strange...makes you feel as if you're tripping at times. Plot is difficult to follow at times and may seem rather contrived at others, but definitely worth a watch if you're in the mood for a 'fking weird' kind of movie.

Eight Days a Week

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119054/

"Peter loves his next door neighbour Erica and, on the advice of his grandfather, decides to camp out on her front lawn for the entire summer, or until she agrees to go out with him. His father is none too happy about the idea and refuses to let his son back in the house, even to get a change of clothes. Peter's friend, Matt, thinks Peter should give up on women (like he has) and just have sex with fruit, and have a total devotion to masterbation."

Directed by Michael Davis (most known for Shoot Em Up), likely a bit better known than The Attic Expeditions, but something I consider a hidden gem.

Great mindfuck, keeps you watch the whole time (I actually kept attention for this while it was 3.00 AM).

Just watched this last night and it was pretty good. There's one thing I just don't get though:

+ Show Spoiler +
When Jess kills herself (the disguised bandit) the first time and starts the cycle over again (the 2nd iteration through), she sees her plain clothes self fighting with the disguised self. But how can that be since that would make 3 Jess'? There are only supposed to be two - her and the one they picked up from the Triangle.

Caught this on TV last night whilst flicking. I have a general dislike of Shia LaBeouf, but I really enjoy most of the films he is in, and this is no exception. About some dude who is under house arrest and becomes convinced his neighbor is a serial killer.

Catch a Fire. It takes place in apartheid South Africa in the 80s. It's based on the true story of an oil plant worker who, after getting fed up with the oppressive government, trains to become a terrorist and get back at them.

If you haven't seen Young Frankenstein you're missing out on some good old fashioned laughs, I still laugh when I watch this movie, it's so funny, and I thought a lot of people have seen it, but apparently not around where I'm from and I was surprised.

Where/how do you people watch your movies? I hate to errrrr.....um, torrent them because of how ragey everyone is getting in regards to that, and the forums I used to frequent that had tons of movie links on streaming sites got shut down...Netflicks is still annoying because I hate waiting for weeks for a movie, and their online selection sucks balls. So i am at a loss. PM me, lol.

Well all I'll say is free movie sites are easy to find, Redbox is a buck a day, buy a movie as earlier as possible, return it the same day, and there's a drive-in movie theater 2 minutes away from where I live, it's $5 a person for 3 movies and you can bring anything you want, drinks, food, etc. and for the most part their food and drinks are cheaper there than at an actual movie theater.

That sounds great. Too bad i don't want to watch 98% of the crap on Redbox or my local movie theatre. I like watching indie/foreign/classic films. You know, actual good movies.

I'm asking because I haven't seen it; is there anything to this movie aside from violence for the sake of violence? I've considered giving it a try but movies like this take a lot out of me, and I don't want to deal with sitting through a feature length films worth of fake snuff unless there is some powerful story or message behind it I'll actually gain something from.

Thanks for the sarcasm, dude I was just trying to help you, all you asked is where we all watch these movies and that's the truth as far as my side of it goes...I barely ever watch free movies online and my drive-in theater is a rare one, it's a people's choice, they ask locals what movies want to be watched, also my redbox has decent movies on it, I guess your's doesn't...

Maybe it was a bid rude, but the point still stands and you may have deserved it, seeing as none of the movies in this thread are going to be on red-box. Or my local theatre.

Common guys, the A-team, I love you man aren't hidden gems. I think someone actually posted avatar on there too. Oh and the fountain totally blew. Paid 20 dollars to see it during the Atlantic film festival.

Based on the show firefly, one of the best space sci-fi movies I've seen. Don't really need to watch the show to enjoy the movie(i actually didn't know about the show till after the movie)

Was posted way back, but I have to post it again. Its one of the most witty films I've seen. Comedy gold mine

I honestly couldn't stand watching Hard Candy. I don't know what it was about the movie, but I lost interest in the beginning and gained a little throughout, but not enough.
I was forced to go to A-Team with a friend and it was what I wasn't expecting: funny, original, and actiony (if that's a word...) Anyone else surprised by A-Team?

Sigh.. I really, REALLY dont want to start an argument in this thread, but can people please refrain from posting mainstream commercial movies in this thread ?

Thanks.

Dude why don't you pull the stick out your ass and read the title of the thread?

SURPRISINGLY GOOD. As in, he expected the A-team to be weak and lame, and it turned out it was clever, funny and well-done. So now, other people with similar expectations will give it a try and maybe enjoy it.

Stop being some kind of thread nazi, geez.

Do yourself a favour and watch the original BBC production, or better yet listen to the radio production (also bbc) / read the books. The new film isn't terrible by any means but it doesnt have the heart of the originals.
