When he's sent to the new school not only does he know that his family (his mom) has offered up a lot to send him there, but he's afraid of getting into the same situation as he was in at his old school, and he also knows that as soon as you start on that road there's no turning back. That's why he tries to ignore the bullying at first. He's terrified he'll just end up in the same situation as before. He didn't magically turn into a different person - the violence in his past forced him to be someone he didn't want to be. | ||
