let's go EG! I believe in Artour!
|
Sad that China is not there I don't think they will win, but Iw ill follow BB! They impressed me! Aside from that: LIQUID!!
|
Oof that was ugly, hopefully Bulba will stop with the firstpick Storm + carry picks xD
|

It is honestly "how many times do we need to teach you this lesson, [EG Drafter]?" at this point. They won't learn, and nobody is holding them accountable.
|
Yeah people keeps saying "it's not bulba's fault EG is losing" but then, who is picking first phase storm constantly? Abed can play so many heroes, including meepo, but they keep putting him on storm.
Also Tundra just played better, draft notwithstanding. All of EG played below their capabilities.
|
Tundra played very well! "my" BB got a point. And BC basically threw game 2...
|
I expected more from EG not gonna lie after dominating their region. Ah well but the tourney just started hopefully they at least show up
|
I just hope they abandon the first phase Storm meme, it's clearly not working and makes them predictable.
edit: and they firstpick storm again, welp looks like another loss
|
I don't get this DK carry meta. I mean i understand that it hits a early-midgame strongly but still it has a weak period in the later parts of the game and it doesn't always scale well
|
BB just won with frst pick Storm, so good luck And damn, I look at the BOOM-OG game and Boom is playing ... Riki!? What year is it?
|

Dunno what happeded to EG since the DPC, but they are playing so badly
|
On May 12 2022 22:51 PoulsenB wrote: Dunno what happeded to EG since the DPC, but they are playing so badly This could just be NA competitiveness dropping or i guess the team is playing under pressure. Rtz was facepalming losing their 3rd game on camera. That looks like stress to me
|
Hopefully TSM can carry the NA torch if/when EG bomb out
|
EG eating some high tier shellackings, but it was expected vs Tundra at least.
I always thought this is the worst roster for a long time, not to mention the meme that is Bulba but let's see, maybe they start playing well against real teams (and not just NA) later in this major and prove me wrong
|
Is that rtz naga ?!? well well well that is nostalgic
|
well update when did EG last throw dot com
|
lina/windranger so much damage holy moly
|
eg throw and rtz cant capitalise his networth advantage nothing to see guys

from matu getting pulled into fountain into thunder clutching against liquid was pretty funny to watch

Man, I didn't expect that from TP...

i have to say i miss lans

I like that this major feels like a mini TI, digging the big groups with multiple streams into full bracket

So will EG firstpick storm today as well?
|
We will see EG going 0:4 and Liquid not able to deal with Spectre were the big things from the first day! Let's see, what will happen today!

And there we go again with Firstpick Storm! :D
|
abed playing under bulba is like neymar playing under sean dyche
|
this yopaj qop is pretty crap pick
|
Ok this game was pretty good from EG, glad to see it
|
I missed the EG games, what happened? At least they won one of them keeping the battle for last place alive (probably with beastcoast)
|
miposhka such an honorable player: TSM feed 3 kills, miposhka takes the underlord portal into the fountain
|
Do you mean TA and not TSM? Because they didn't play Underlord against TSM! (and I have to check that out, sounds fun! )

Oh I misunderstood your post, he took tsms portal :p
|
Just watched the VOD and saw it. Damn it, I didn't know that was possible! :D
|
If EG keeps this up, I wonder if this will finally be the performance that costs Arteezy/Bulba their careers.
|
Yeah if they keep playing like this it seems unlikely they will place any other position except last. Decent plays by Betboom though! Daxak is a beast.
|
EG must be happy with their CS:GO and Dota 2 teams, holy shit what a waste of money

WTF :D

so eg needs to 2-0 beastcoast then win in a b03 to still play the tournament and not disband i guess
|
k1 singlehandedly lost the game

hopefully BC doens't pick veno mid

Yeah I expected a better showing from them, but nightfall was just a shadow of himself from the DPC and the team overall felt very disjointed, they just played very poorly. Sad thing is that they will most probably say "it's because of no bootcamp" and don't change a thing.

nightfall doesnt seem like a natural offlane player, neither does jerax at hard support and theres not a lot of chemistry between the roster. these just add to the problems that EG already had last year that everybodys already known about.

Never believed in this EG roster
Jerax is the definition of a washed player + he is not a 5. I watched his 50 nyx games on stream before he got picked up by EG, looked like a rank 500-1000 player.
Nightfall is Ramzes 2.0 - not an offlaner
Arteezy - I know he likes the pressure and wants to be the most farmed hero on the map, back in the day when he bursted onto the scene that happened from mid with SF, Alch, TA etc. then patches happened and the safelane was again the true pos 1, but I cannot shed the feeling he wasted his talent and career on carry. Now is too late.
Bulba - kick this man OMG
|
Yeah having Nightfall playing offlane seems like such a waste of talent. They could honestly kick RTZ, pick up another 3 and have a better chance going forward with Nightfall pos 1. Not going to happen but something clearly needs to change at least.

Ill make a couple big guys to display.
And then I make anything people want. As long as they can pull up a photo or if the have a plushie or a tshirt with an image etc. For most dota2 things its about 15 minutes or so to make. ESL pays me to come out and as long as people are willing to wait I make balloons for everyone that comes!!
I just did a blog post over at TL.net if you wanna check out some photos.

thats my insta but the last 2+ years have not had many balloons going .....damn covid.

Ahaha what an end to the second game of TA vs BB.
Moonmeander's greed paid off so well here.
Good stuff TSM. Proud to see my NA boys notch a big scalp and dispel some doubters.

Cannot remember having seen zai that "weak" in a tournament for a very long time. Micke was also more miss than hit in their games. Hopefully they will recover, but losing on home turf that hard must be frustrating...
The hype around BOOM ended as quickly as it begun. Two well deserved victories by OG and I presume that Ceb will not be allowed to play WR again in the tournament. So many clutch shackle shots and he had more impact on the game as some Pos 2-WR.
In the absence of the chinese teams, EU is about having three out of their four teams under the top 8. With still two teams having a decent shot at getting to the top3.

Sniper for Fnatic!? If that works out...

What a sick game from TSM. That arena catch by SabeRLighT and the Supernova timing on Moon on dyrachYO in the base was a huge turning point.
Woo, very nice TSM. Showing a lot of strength against the top EU teams here.

Hoping TSM vs Tundra repeats itself in grand finals and one of them win it as imo one of them deserve it too.

That have been two hell of a series between Tundra/TA and TSM/GG. The battle of SEA was a snooze festival compared to these two matches.
The losses from GG were really harsh, throwing game 1 and giving away a huge lead in game 2 may give them a blow to their morale. Unless mistaken, except for Ace it is their first showing on LAN while TSM had TI-attending and major winning veterans in their squad. TSM showed again that everything is possible in a Dota-Game, great resilience under extreme pressure. Let´s see if GG can bounce back, otherwise it will be a valuable lesson for them and at least they have secured a Top6-finish and they are not going out without some points and money.
|
I'm very curious about TSM vs Tundra. TSM hasn't shown any interest in zoo offlaners since two games of Beastmaster and a game of Lycan 30 days ago. No Visage on their history at all. I'm guessing Saberlight can play zoo fine, but as a team they prefer not to. Meanwhile Tundra has picked Beast/Lycan/Visage more than 50% of their Major games. So it seems like an interesting stylistic clash.

RIP SEA dota.
Once while Midone and Mushi, or Moon or Ice3 in Fnatic, they are still competitive with other region. Though Armel and Raven looked great when play internally in SEA, their weakness is exposed when play internationally.
We missed Malaysian and Singaporean to bring back glory to SEA.

SEA embraced 1st, 2nd & 3rd, but is bottom 3 not top 3. So sad. I can only say good SEA players were mostly exported to.other region:
China: NTS, xNova, JT, Oli, Ghost
EG: Abed
Secret: Ice3
Armel, Yopaj, Raven shown excellent players but only in SEA, not with other region.

T1 in top 8 just because the others in the same group were all zero win, and Boom was in the same group too. You can be lucky cos your were grouped into weak group.
I felt pinoy occupied SEA, and this kind of chasing away other SEA players, maybe communication or playstyle different made pinoy hard to accept other SEA players. Most of them quit and what the team did is further recruit more pinoy. (Sorry is pinoy an insultng term? I hope not)
Midone joined SMG which rather no future, maybe he feels more comfortable in his domain team. Nothingtosay the greatest SEA midlane nowadays joined China with better achievement.
I do read some article mentioned Karl, Raven, Armel, 23savage those are best SEA players... suddenly I feel so sad, cos it showed how poor is SEA dota now.

It is just this major they have a mediocre showing even tho one of them made it to top 8 T1 in top 8 just because the others in the same group were all zero win, and Boom was in the same group too. I hope not) Midone joined SMG which rather no future, maybe he feels more comfortable in his domain team. Nothingtosay the greatest SEA midlane nowadays joined China with better achievement. I do read some article mentioned Karl, Raven, Armel, 23savage those are best SEA players... suddenly I feel so sad, cos it showed how poor is SEA dota now. SEA was pretty bad before it got "pinoy-occuptied" as you said. The only time SEA started actually winning was when TNC became a thing

Ok just ban Ceb WR
There is a reason that's 10-0 in this tournament. Kinda disgusting
|
I'm not sure why that was not the first thing to do... or at least "second"; you had 5 bans for that, before they picked WR!
|
tundra looking pretty flat on LAN, lots of missed spells and not super coordinated, looking like main stage nerves
|
skiter punching back a bit, like no defensive support for him though
|
yeah tundra just outplayed here

One hell of a lower bracket run from OG all the way from the LR1. I'm believing the finals will be closer than I anticipated now, though I'm predicting TSM 3-2.
|
let's see if TSM can beat the 4-5 carry lineups that OG brings
|
TSM also really likes enigma so that may be the most contested hero

funny that 12 years later cheering for tsm again

That will be nice haha

that snipe was crazy
tsm doing a decent job staying in the game, but looking scary for them. I think tsm's lineup scales better but gonna be really really hard to get there
|
I mean props to tsm for trying to take fights down in the game, in bad locations and after missing dark seer wall, but yeah...

I remember someone on TL once called dota a game that gets won in twenty minutes and then the loosing team has another twenty minute death animation. I disagreed at the time, but this patch feels so snowbally.
Tbf TSM played an early game pushing draft, so yeah the game was pretty much over when OG got out of the early game with a significant lead. But Dota games atm seem to go only in one direction.

TSM getting run over in the last game, eh, games 1 and 3 were good!
ggs
|
Game 1: Slight outdraft by TSM Game 2: Significant outdraft by OG Game 3: Thought TSM was winning but that last fight was a really poor decision. Game 4: Just a stomp.
Gratz to OG, we'll see what TSM bring back next time. Making the finals is a great step for them.

And mainly because the weaker team had a slight lead and the stronger team kept trading in fights. Once one team got above 5k lead the game was immediately over again.
Game 3 was still a good game to watch though.
