EG got the easiest draw
Look like VP and VG will advance from the lower bracket.

There are clear favorites in all 4 matches, but the non-favorite winning won't be a huge upset if they do. Amazingly enough, the brackets played out well enough that everyone really good is still in the tournament. Looking forward to some really top-tier Dota over the new few days.

I can't really watch at work but I'm gonna try to listen to the stream at least. Good thing I'll be home by the time the EG game starts

I'm always confused, when a "rare" pick - like this Storm Spirit - is picked in the first phase...

This VP's draft looks terrible against LGD's. Medusa also comes online way before Spectre... Hopefully VP can prove me wrong but this one to me looks one-sided already.

It's going to come down to itemization. If the Medusa can be locked down by even the Shadow Shaman, the rest of the team can be killed and Medusa dies later. Issue is if this gets to 50 minutes, LGD has a good advantage. Now, if the Dark Seer has no game, it gets different.

To me it seems really hard for VP to kill LGD at any stage of the game. Not sure where the damage is supposed to come from
These two fights initiations going a bit wrong put the Sven a bit behind. Should be easier for LGD when Sven gets a BKB, but for now it has been pretty easy to completely botch the initiation against Abaddon

Yup this, itemization doesn't matter. This for example was the best fight VP could hope for, a lot of stuff going their way and still ended 2 for 2 with also Solo and Noone being very close to death. Spectre is amazing against squishy backliners, she sucks against tanky heroes and whole LGD team is really tanky.

Yeah this is over, VP can't take a fight anymore. Sven, Medusa and DS are too tanky, Sven and Medusa also farm way faster than single core Spectre(don't consider Storm really a core in this game when he just can't engage and stay in fight properly, too many things that counter him). This will just get uglier and uglier every minute. Later Brewlings just die from Sven and Medusa while DS scales because of the wall and is always useful throughout the game.

Maybe should just get the BKB, they would win the fight during the duration easily.
Well I guess even with Medusa in the air VP doesn't have the damage to kill the others

How do you kill a farmed dusa and sven, those two cores together are ugly

I just don't get the reasoning behind the VP's draft. After Storm pick, LGD banned AM, this to me screams Medusa and pretty much EVERY team I've seen had a huge problems dealing with Medusa without a proper counter. LGD picks a lot of AoE, which makes PL and Naga Siren obsolete and they didn't do it later in the game, their first two picks were Dark Seer and Sand King... Letting Medusa pass through while having two bans is just really strange drafting mistake by them. As soon as I've seen the picks I knew how this game will turn out, and it did exactly how I predicted, which to be honest wasn't so hard to predict...

LGD drow necro lineup is great at taking towers and map control early. If they fail to do so, they can just drag to late game storm drow lineup with VP lineup being so shit at taking towers.
