pande - Can you link the pedia page to the main tournament now since group stages are done? Removing the team logos and having only fixtures on the main ppst is an excellent space saver. | ||

Aus doesn't deserve a region of their own when they are only 0.5% of the dota population. They have problems even filling up players in higher tier mmr. | ||

If the player population in Aus grows significantly it would be reasonable to give them a slot, but right now they're behind, India, Dubai, and South Africa as far as a region that doesn't have a reasonable qualifier to participate in (from what I understand SEA is playable, though not ideal). Why is a chef casting a main stage game, anyways? | ||

When Meracle bought back on naga, they then took Aegis on LGD, they had a window of a good 3-4 minutes where no buyback on Meracle and an Aegis on the storm, how about they go for a rax or teamfight and try to win the game. Instead LGD backed off cleared out illusions and farmed XD How do you lose 5 rax with a naga on your team and not going across your side of map for 20 minutes WTF XD | ||

very obviously, they wanted to 5-man after a certain point and tank through a buyback warlock ulti. maybe he doesn't even get the golems out between cyclone boulder cyclone. they had tools to lock down a slark and keep him down for a good portion of the game, but the fast BKB and being unable to find him as opposed to sandking meant they inevitably take a bad fight. | ||

then he left.. then they had ana a player they didnt realize that his playstyle was trading blowtoblow with the entire enemy team, often waiting for the last second to dodge spells with BKB (watch his replays@ youtube, he a total trade-blows-with-u carry) - (might be a stupid decision nowadays), but it does turn teamfights 180* on its head when he alone absorbs most spells when the enemy team thinks they got free food. then the META changed more n more into drafting oriented, where picks outshadows most kinds of outplays 90% of the time, and also his heroes got shoved aside (ember n invoker) then he got kicked then they had reso who ALSO got sidetracked by a META change where the game became all about PUSHING (before the ganking meta) then he also get kicked idk if they supposed to lose faith again meta is meta man the core of the team is the teamwork if they feel good playing with each other they should just stick with it, unless if someone cant really keep up | ||

that 4v5 lost battle at btm, without Tinker leads to 4 Bounty Steal, its a 8k gold swing lol thats bad, this team is looking bigheaded now an express route to upsets and downfall playing very sloppy very fast, even if they win, this is an indicator of bad upcoming performances | ||

LGD are fine, by the looks of it. If anything currently LGD is like 3 years ago a highliner of a Chinese meta and this is a good place to be as a LGD fan. OG on the other hand probably wouldn't have got annihilated 0-2 by Newbee on the previous patch... | ||

I definitely agree with you. frequent patches should be used to correct under/overperforming heroes or even items, not to significantly rework game mechanics. i think it would be different if frequent patches were making the game actually more enjoyable to watch, but I've found that pro games have bounced from incredibly sloppy in the last patch to being completely decided by the draft or the first fuckup in the midgame in this patch. it's also kinda devaluing the DPC qualification process in my mind. teams that figure out a particular meta or have a style that suits a particular patch can win a tournament and then if the new patch doesn't suit them, they'll look like T2 teams that should go through the regional qualifiers. i don't think that the combination of the DPC system and the frequent patches is a good thing. | ||

@Nocticate I think Icefrog wanted to make drastic changes before the 2 week cycle experiment was announced. My first impression was similar that the two week patch cycle would be too frequent and may produce many knee jerk changes. After seeing a lot of the patches though, I think Icefrog wasnt happy with the game and how certain fundamental changes to the mechanics were made and he wanted to remedy that before TI. He was going to make big fundamental changes regardless. He needed to use the two week cycle to rapidly test and to implement drastic changes/reversal gradually. Without the patch cycle change, at most he had 2 number patches that he could tinker with. Maybe there was some validity to the rumours about IF being unhappy with some of the changes in recent years) Imo the game is going to be great if it becomes 6.81ish (pre comeback gold) in terms of gold/exp mechanics + the 7.00 map changes, QoL, Talent tree. Talents really help balance the value of Exp vs Gold. Before talents, almost all power spikes came from big item purchases which was why as the top teams got better at macro and controlling sources of gold, games felt decided after 10-20 minutes. Comeback gold (6.82+) was just a cheap and quickfix way of trying to give the losing team a source of gold. | ||
