OG can certainly win but I'm still not sold on ana tbh. If sumail doesn't eat him alive it's probably pretty even though.

Yes, in general TI is what every single team builds themselves toward in the year. And because TI's prize pool eclipses the entirety of the rest of the year (other Majors included).
Sure, results the rest of the year matter, but every single player and team in the scene would gladly take bottom place in all of them if it meant winning The International.

I might be the retarded one here but in my ears the expression "year of the west/china" describes what region was the most dominant by winning the larger amount of prestigious tournaments, not by how much money they earned doing it. The guy I initially responded to said "And so the year of the west begins" as in "this year west will dominate", not "this year west will earn more money".
How well a team or region does is determined by how well they play, not much money they earn.

That's just like... your opinion man. Try telling that to the teams. "You're not that good, even though you won TI. You played like shit so LOL too bad". Doesn't really work the way you're describing.

It's funny because you people insist on calling it soccer when there's a perfectly good word for it that actually describes the sport but you already use it for another sport in which the ball and the foot hardly even touch each other and it makes no sense what so ever to call it football.
Also, french fries and potato chips describes the same thing, just like elevator and lift, the word "soccer" says absolutely nothing about the sport. I know changing the name of your american rugby will be too difficult for for the same reason as switching to the metric system (your stubbornness) but please if you aren't going to call football football, please don't call it soccer, like what the fuck is that name.

Well I think the "year of the ____" is stupid at face value, and more stupid to even start discussing it a full 8 months before TI even comes around.
But winning TI is a bragging right for teams that requires no justification. The winner walks away on top of the world, and everyone else gets to argue about the piddly things like year performance.

Meh, I mean I support OG but EG is just so dam solid every-freaking-time in tournaments. While OG can choke hard, towards the end. Also Brotail face didn't really reassure me, the man look exhausted, maybe he can't sleep?
