I'm glad to see Liquid win but I was also glad to see an Alch team win a game despite the Alch being quite killable for the other team

draft and game 4 is underway. the series started as a 1-1 after some mildy frustrating games from both.
as the draft ends, swindlez is happy with the nyx pick (NB), win conditions for both teams, but easier points of execution and thus winning for NB in this game.

overall drafts are as follows:
game 4
Newbee (NB) - doom / invoker / clinkz / nyx / tide
TeamLiquid (liquid) - wisp / alch / earthspirit / slardar / gyro

the horn is blown at 0:03 a large nyx impale is hit, but it is not good damage from level 1, liquid is able to claim first blood.

1:30 triliane top consisted of slardar, es, wisp claim a double kill on both clinkz and doom.
not only does this achieve healthy kills, this keeps both of those heroes on low levels and thus making them repeatable in the near future.

at bottom lane, kpii is playing the quintessential tidehunter, 2 levels in kraken shell and 1 in anchor smash, easily rebuffing gyro and es (now bottom with gyro). he is now sitting at the same last hits and denies as gyro and makes the overall lane quite annoying for gyro, at least until he is closer to rotating with ravage. at the end of this sequence of events, wisp walks down to bottom lane as well after their initial success at top.

finally tide dies with good and proper play from the support duo + gyro, oh boy they are diving him again, now with calldown. doom tps in as a reaction, claims earth spirits life but cannot do better. ultimately, tidehunter survives and dings 6.

clinks after his start has caught up, has gone for the soul-ring start and has not upgraded from basilius to aquila as he has not much more spending money at this point.
slardar in comparison is sitting on brown boots and iron talon. him and wisp are a duo at top, as is clinkz and doom on the opposing side. nyx has moved top as well, sitting right behind clinkz as he continues to farm.

quietly, alch has farmed to high levels and gives up mid lane to his ES support, hopefully for a level 6 and a tower defense at one of their perimeter towers.

swipe swipe swipe, doom is walked down by an alch and gets low, forcing a couple tps, but fata has no leves in concoction (full greed build) and doom walks out of the acid spray.
very quickly, all 4 (minus clinkz) walk into gyro and even with calldown, nothing can save him.
11:13 now, clinkz dies in the jungle and newbee extends past, chuan misses a key impale and backs off. a calldown narrowly misses a kill on nyx.

looking at the net gold, radiance is out soon, similar to the timing of game 2. the main difference is that fata has favored jungle farm. wisp relocate has netted one pickoff, and it seems as though clinkz is scaling quite slowly to net the impact they require of him at this point.
actually, invoker is quite poor, dies in jungle as of speaking and now tide is the richest character from NB at 4.8k as alch is approaching 9k.

15:00
newbee after a succession of single hero losses feint a roshan quickly walking out of the pit with the rest of their heroes. ravage catches wisp and gyro yet again and alch ends up tanking a death as well. they are not commiting to roshan as death timers are stilll low.
newbee as they have been this series stays around and claims an additional kill, yet liquid's mid t1 is intact. alch then dies but liquid strikes back claiming two of their own, including clinkz.
there is a lot of pressure and counterpressure this game, hinging on the commitment of their movements.

suddenly near rosh,
3 person crush,
earth spirit follows up, spends ult, refreshes duration,
newbee is sent reeling with 4 deaths but not all for naught.
still, liquid is getting gold on the right heroes and have a good lineup for taking rosh if newbee are not present.

the fight inevitably breaks out at the roshan again, ther eis no ravage for 40s.
invoker's chaos meteor whiffs, liquid's incredible fighting lineup happily takes the fight, losing only wisp to claim each core on newbee minus invoker who blinks back to jungle to continue his progression. he really will need to make magic happen this game.

alchemist is quickly approaching a full manta at 22m and together with slardar is an incredible force. close to -15 armor on multiple targets which not only amps acid spray, but slardar's damaging skills as well.

how will newbee deal with the teamfighting and sustaining combinations of liquid's heroes at this point?
it seems they'll just have to outfight and hope for the best. hao still only has a deso and things are getting out of hand.

alch is converged on top where clinkz is farming. it is all started by radiance proccing carapace.
wisp relocates in and a fight starts.
as the dust settles, alch dies easily but so does clinkz.

invoker quietly farming jungle with all of this happens, not as though he can do too much without boots of travel and the perfect game sense at this point.

score: 20:14
the observer shows that clinkz is building bkb. this is basically for a full duration strafe, as silly as it sounds. he still has good damage for the next 5 minutes but beyond that, if newbee is unable to secure good teamfights, clinkz will become a nonfactor nextt to slardar, gyro, and alchemist.

courier died for radiant 2 and a half minutes ago.
doom has a midas but has no major items to show for it.
invoker has the rest of his aghanims being shipped to him.
octarine is finished by the time courier is up again for liquid. it is 30m in.

considering the scalability of nyx, clinkz, tide, and the support doom, newbee is in for a rough time.
they will need to sweep a fight cleanly and pressure into t2's to keep liquid on thier toes.
as of speaking, roshan goes to liquid each and every time with all the map control they now have.

both teams have ended up avoiding each other, invoker relying on forge spirits for guaranteed push as the rest of the heroes splinter off and farm seperately.

32:00 rosh is taken, i am counting the seconds it takes. barely 10 seconds between amp damage, gyro physical, acid spray. imagine if one of wisp or earth spirit were a dazzle, it would actually be disgusting.

observer shows clinkz has deso bkb + 3k. that 3k is basically buyback money.
the fight needs to go well, there is no two ways about this. their barracks bottom is exposed and they are about to lose both. one more creep wave.
each 30s is an immene amount og pressure.

all 5 die on newbee within the span of 3 seconds, tidehunter has risked everything for a double ravage but there is not enough on the plate and liquid is much too strong.

gg!

liquid has tied 2-2
