Maybe I should hope for it to become a scapegoat for Valve to finally pay attention to our dumb shit server. Quality of players is already demoralizing enough
i fully expect this tournament to be a complete failure. i dont think there was a single decent tournament in asia in the last 12 months.

As far as I recall DAC had constant pauses due to server lag. I don't remember it being that smooth of a tournament.

Hoping for liquid and vici to do well!

I think it's an EHOME vs Secret finals. VG not looking too hot, LGD worse. Liquid might surprise though. The games I'm gonna look forward to should be the VP vs Mineski series :D

based on groups i'd say secret get a free ride to top 4 probably but who knows, maybe fnatic or DC can surprise

the tournament which couldnt even play all games on stage because basic math was too hard for them or the tournament which changed rules within the tournament? dac was terrible, the only reason people liked it was because it had prestige in it and back then people where much more lenient towards organizational failure. luckily, we evolved.

1 million dollars says DC wins it all

The production value looks good so far. Accomodation wise I dare say this is the best any of the players ever had, easily beating TI. They're staying at MBS ffs. I'm surprised the organiser made such an arrangement.
SEA server however is kinda unstable the past few times I played. This is Singapore though. If the organisers get the right people to set up, this event can go smoothly. I mean if they don't mind spending so much for accommodation (apparently they didn't scrimp on flights either, according to ODPixel), hopefully they spend on the setup too.
[Edit] I don't quite like the format however. BO1 LB for 2 rounds...

ya if they're pressed for time they could've just made group stage bo1s instead of truncating elimination brackets

Umm it's a little different. Group stages are online, and probably played in a lan centre. Main event is at the venue itself. If all matches were BO3, I think they probably needed to an additional day of booking the venue, which is quite expensive.

Any idea whether they will actually get a good turnout for the playoffs? All I've seen is people complaining about ticket prices or whatever but not sure how locals etc feel about it. From what I've seen this far the event feels pretty great, I just hope it won't be another MLG in terms of the crowd.

I don't have high hopes about that. Singaporeans can well afford the 4 day pass or single day passes. The draw of the event is that we finally have a major tournament here, so I think there would be people going. But I don't expect it to be packed on the first 2 days due to school/work. Weekends could see a crowd though.

the accommodations and the facilities are pretty good for this tourney.i should say.fingers crossed for tommorow

Huh. I thought Team Secret vs LGD and CDEC vs VP would be the first games... Is the OP wrong or the Sidebar?

So the turnout gonna be so poor accord to reddit. Is having a decent event just too much to ask?
