riot tweaks a lot of things if strats aren't 'approved' by them, or so i hear. like they buffed towers massively in the first few minutes to stop push strats

What do you mean?

Riot tends to force a certain approach, often an overreaction. In season 3 (Last year) there was a severe issue with high burst mid laners being too powerful and vision control being too easy to deny leading to absurd snowball. Now this year mid laners are primarily wave clear oriented, turrets are stronger, it's harder to deny vision and there's far more stalling.
This came to fore when bottom lanes (AD carries and supports) were 2v1ing top laners loads and they tried to buff towers to discourage the fast push the bottom lanes were doing.

I suppose. It just feels like a lead of 5 kills has a 90%~ guarantee of winning the game with the current metagame. It's just a complete snowballing advantage. Don't like the idea of the entire game being decided by one first blood as some people in this thread are putting it.

Newbee's draft was so dreamy that game. Like every hero was just so well drafted and purposed. Even if VG had counter-push or the ability to not be pushed VG had themselves setup so well for Roshan attempts from early on and the picks also force VG into Newbee's jungle, but without VG having any chance of a level 1 fight advantage.
