I should watch these games.
That said, I don't think Riki is really worth fearing. He's not useless but he's not a big enough problem to warrant a ban even if you know he's likely to be picked otherwise IMO.

I don't think they should have banned him either no.
I still think they should have gotten DK and pushed through. But Riki is a good pick against Storm, but you still need to get the ball rolling which Nth didn't this game.
It'll take some fuck-ups from VP to lose this.

You can't plan to push through if you let the enemy have a kotl.

You can with a bm/np/dk. Kotl is good at counter-pushing late-game in large 4v4/5v5 enagements or against slow pushing. Early game you can dive the shit out of him and he's useless.
Then when you get a couple of towers Storm won't have the room to do what he does best.
It's not a great plan but it's better than getting a Riki who will never get the room to farm.

this riki pick.. why? he just dies from all their spam S:

Well played from VP though. As usual when they do well early they can roll through a team very fast, especially when the other team needs the time to get wisp (and in this case riki) online. This is how you're supposed to play vs wisp but it would be a different story vs DK who peaks earlier, can push, can counter-push, and doesn't die easily to storm ganks.

It is against the Storm but they just don't have the time to get the counter online unless they roll early game. It could have worked, and it isn't a bad pick and I don't think they got out-drafted. But I think a DK pick is better and safer and the window of opportunity is larger.

If your offensive trilane is fucking Riki, Wisp and Rubick then you've already lost to any even half competent team... I didn't see the draft but holy hell how did they fuck up like that.

s4 qop so badass. But I much prefer VP's line-up at this point. They're so used to running this.

Today at 18:00 CET, there will be a live show where we draw the groups of the EMS One tournaments. Dota 2 should start around 18:20 or 18:30, right after CS:GO is done.
This will happen live in RaidCall: http://www.raidcall.com/go.php?sid=1997
We have something special in store for this draw. To reward the teams that managed to secure a top 4 ranking spot after all online cups, they will be allowed to switch their groups. This should give them a small leg-up, because of their hard work in the cup stage. The order in which these switches will happen are like this:
1. Fourth placed team swaps first 2. Third placed team swaps second 3. Second placed team swaps third 4. Best placed team swaps last
