If anything then DK should blame themselves for being overconfident and revealing their hand too soon with Spectre FP. Keep in mind that these players play to win, and they will use any legitimate trick they have no matter how frowned upon they might be to achieve it. I suggest people who are still mad about KotL PL read this: http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/intermediates-guide.html Has nothing to do with playing to win. Has more to do with the fact that E-sports hinges on having viewers, and Kotl/Pl/Batrider comps are completely boring to watch and simply boring. Why? I thought that the game was a lot of fun to watch. I think that Batrider is one of the most entertaining heroes in the game. Based on Icefrog''s past history with 'rat dota' better known as afk farm while avoiding team fights, he will likely do everything in his power to ruin Alliance's playstyle of runaway and farm, only taking engagements they know they can win for sure through buybacks. LOL please stop being mad. You are just digging your hole deeper with each post you make. But he's right tho. Bat will get nerfed for sure. Just look at TI2 Morphling, who was picked/banned (almost?) every match as well. If it's the biggest tournament of the year and a single heroes remains consistently at the top there sure is somethign wrong with him. Bat's ban priority is actually closer to where Lycan was at TI2 than Morph. And we all know what happened to Lycan ![]()

Has more to do with the fact that E-sports hinges on having viewers, and Kotl/Pl/Batrider comps are completely boring to watch and simply boring. Now you're talking out of your ass again. The typical casual viewer won't be preoccupied with caring what hero is OP until they have gained some sort of game knowledge. Not to mention Alliance isn't exactly the most boring team in terms of kill quota either (highest average kills in the tourney right now). As an Avid SC2 (Masters) and LoL (Gold) watcher, who just watched that last game as their first ever DotA2 game, all I got out of it was, "Why doesn't everyone just pick Batrider and win?" I'm watching a second game now since there's no League to watch this weekend, but so far it mostly it just seems like a fast paced cf to me, and picking Batrider is an instant win. There seems to be no semblance of strategy that I can tell so far. It's really hard for me to tell what's going on in a fight. Of course, I've also read that most of what decides a DotA game happens in champ select because of the large number of hard counters. So I'm not completely sure. Hoping this game is more entertaining to watch. If you can tell me what to watch for so I know what makes for a good play in this game, I would love to be educated. All I know is the basics of the genre, plus the deny mechanic. The whole "hard counters" argument is something I hear a lot from people outside of Dota. It really isn't true. There are a lot of soft counters. If you have a hero and the opponent has 0 soft counters to that hero, you will have to rely more on movement and map control. You're not just going to lose. Quite frankly a lot of the talks about 'outdrafts' are from people who don't understand the game all that great. It's something pro players will not say all that often. Because there are so many things which go into a successful game, if you lose, saying it was the draft is just an easy way out. IT could just be you didn't hit your timing window, because of this the game goes later, and your line-up is useless. People call it a draft lost, even though it wasn't.
