When they went to china, they could have easily gone far in tournaments if they played their usual style. I just don't understand why they prefer experimenting so heavily, rather than actually win tournaments...

Picking Undying into a Lycan is definitely suspect, I dunno what was up with that.

(Honestly though, that was a horrible game for Wisp in general. So many ways for him to get blown up with all the -armor physical dmg combined with Timber and Visage nukes.

Not sure if you saw the interview with Cyborgmatt, but EE talked about their trip to China there. He said that they realized groups were not a huge priority, and he essentially put down 5 heroes that they wanted to play with, and just picked those (several were such heroes that would never really get banned). Even after those games they were confident going against iG, but he gave a lot of credit to iG and how they managed to draft against c9. But more to the point, imo at DH they had a pretty clear plan for their drafts, and how they prioritized different heroes. If they want to do something different, this is the tournament to try it in. It has a decent prize pool, but it's online and at a terrible spot between two lans and right before TI. Teams are bootcamping and practicing all day with TI in mind, so I find it understandable if they don't show their best games (even just playing poorly because of lack of focus or testing something for the draft or whatever) in D2L. I suppose one can also put this just down to some fundamental problem with c9, but I guess we'll see how they approach the drafts at ESL once again, and finally at TI.

I was referring mainly to their first trip there though.

The axe didn't snowball in the laning stage and dived venge behind the tier1 at bottom lane with only 2 of his teammates backing him up. You just can't do that when all of Empire can tp to help. Mistakes like this make my worry about c9's chances at TI4.
