an earlier butterfly would be better ~~ i honestly dont think so , remember , all the active armlets boni are shared to your illusions , so armelt gives your illusions +31 damage , + 10 attack speed and + 24 strength while all they get from a butterfly is +30 agility. for more than double the price. | ||

No, Armlet only grants the +Strength to Illusions. Illusions do not benefit from flat +damage or +attack speed in any form except when they come from an Endurance-based aura. Note that Manta Style's +MS/+AS are implemented as a 0-radius Endurance Aura, which means that Illusions do benefit them. Consequently, Manta is very valuable for an Illusion hero like PL because all of its stats are Illusion-relevant (and the Manta Illusions can generate their own Illusions). Illusions benefit from Evasion. This is a big deal lategame. | ||

When you're on your third item you should be valuing slot efficiency higher though and armlet is going to get ditched very fast when you're talking about six slotting. I'm not sure the active actually applies the damage/aspd buff to illusions though. Even if the damage is added on the character sheet it might not actually be applied on hit. The stats are added because it would be very easy to determine if an illusion is fake or not if the stats were not added. Unholy Strength only applies the str bonus to illusions (attack speed not tested, but it should follow the path principle as damage). If you want strength, buy another reaver instead of making armlet. You don't get the fear created from having purple illusions though. what's the best thing to do with chen/ench if you get 2 in your safe lane who don't want to rotate around and you have no hero that's good solo offlane? Go offlane and hope you can grab a lucky creep or two at some point while stopping your offlaner from dying/being forever level 1, or just jungle as normal and look to crush safe lane hard enough to make up for the offlane? I've been doing the latter but people get really bitchy about having to play a shitty solo offlane. | ||

If you activate it and move it to your bear, you don't get the strength, but you don't get the life drain either, and you end up with a +40 damage, +25 ias, 5 armor, 8 regen per second item for 2600. Like maelstrom, but with less single target damage (24+30), but more tower pushing damage and armor. | ||

That said, I'm not sure how worthwhile Armlet is without benefiting from the Strength/Armlet juking. The Maelstrom comparison isn't all that good because Maelstrom is a farming item, so it's priced with that somewhat in mind (like Radi and Battle Fury), and is more slot-efficient because it builds into an end-game item as well. | ||

People get maelstrom on sylla more so they can fight earlier (than saving for radiance), not so much for hardcore farming. Armlet is an I want to crush all your towers/your base right now item. Edit: maelstrom proc and entangle can't coincide right? That reduces maelstrom proc to 20%, which is 6 damage, or entangle to 16%, which is significant. | ||
