Play on. If you never abandon then there are 9 other players in the game apart from you. All with equal chance to abandon over time. 4 on your team, 5 on enemy team. Over time you win more than lose by this.
I've seen plenty of games where one player abandons and then 2 players on opposite team leave. Strange stuff happens.

ya its like more than half the time , if your player abandons early then your team goes crazy and you end up crushing them and they leave. also you get bonus gold i think

...yes?
If you were moving during the backswing there'd possibly be no delay between attack point and moving, whereas cancelling the backswing with a move command is gonna have some delay between attack point and the cancel.
Plus moving during backswing would look stupid.
Not like there'd be a major difference, but people are talking about UAMs being orbs and orbwalking being backswing cancels and all kinds of shit, it's hard to tell who knows what they're talking about and who's confused.
I think some people got taught early on that stutter step micro is called orb walking instead of q-clicking with things like viper and drow orbs, and the misinformation has really spread. Or maybe I've just been misinformed and have no idea what I'm actually talking about.

I'm confused.
To clear things up, you can't move and backswing simultaneously. You cancel backswing - move - attack - cancel backswing and so on.
You could buy an item for your hero in wc3 that gave you a ranged attack vs flying units and another effect depending on the orb. Orb of venom was the night elf one I think? Gave you extra damage and applied a dot on enemies.

the term predates mobas, just like meta-game, aegis, were terms before dota.
If it predates orb effects then that term is fucked, and I'm not sure what to call chucking fire spears without getting aggro in dota anymore.
I propose we call it tit juggling. That way, you can orb walk and tit juggle at the same time, and people will know what the hell you're talking about. Maybe.
well, we used to call it "manual casting", as opposed to auto cast
auto cast is no less an orb effect, but will draw aggro
___
I'm not 100% sure, but my guess is it's from warcraft 3 because as mentioned above, we had items called orb of venom, orb of corruption, etc. that would give you an orb effect. I can't be certain that it wasn't borrowed from an earlier game though. (before warcraft 3 there weren't heroes.. but still you can't be sure it's not from a different franchise)
so if orb walking is stutter stepping using an orb ability in wc3 then i guess its still legit to call it that in dota since in dota you're stutter stepping using an (orb) ability
