I really want to try Oracles but after reading his skill / combo description on wiki, I can't understand shit. Earth Spirit got nerfed to death? Cause I remember how OP this shit was when he got released. What do you not understand about oracle? There isn't that much to get. First ability purges and damages in a nuke and snares people depending on channel duration, it always deals the same damage regardless of range and is AOE around the taget. Second ability gives immunity to magic damage(not magic effects, just 100% resistance) but also disarms the target and makes them take 50% extra physical damage. The third ability nukes a target and then heals the target for slightly more afterwards, it's good for nuking a target down fast or comboing it with the first and second ability. For enemies you can use the third ability and then purge off the healing effect with the first ability leaving only a cheap and low cooldown nuke. For allies you can give them 100% magic resistance and then use the third ability only for its healing effect. His ult is pretty simple, gives invisibility to an ally that doesn't go away regardless of the target casting abilities or attacking, during the ult the target can't be damaged or healer at all and afterwards they take all the damage the ult might have prevented, or if they were healed the healing is doubled after the ult wears off.

I want to change that, and for the next few months, try a little bit harder. How should I interpret the experience chart? Levels 6-8 require the same experience to advance in level. What does this mean for a mid hero? Assure yourself lvl 8 before moving away from lane? (Of course, special occassions like a strong ganking rune, or an easy tp to counter-gank/kill situation aside) And for the rest of the positions? Levels 8-9, I interpret it as, definitely avoid a death. It would boost the other team, and maybe keep you stuck at that level-range a lot more than you want. Level 10, farm those ~10 melee kreeps as fast as you can, to hit a skill-peak (e.g. lvl2 ulti). Abuse the fact that probably most of the enemy heroes are probably stuck at lvl 8, 9 to find favorable fights? Level 11, if no favorable fights occur, ensure efficiency and tempo, to reach 12, and keep on going normally?

You just kinda have to know your hero and be aware that if you need a skill to X for it to be really useful and you don't have it by 8 there is a risk involved of the map devolving and you having a skill that is not where you need it, especially if you are playing a support.

This is notable on some heroes that might not take a 2nd rank of their ult at 11, for example.

That item seems mostly terrible for her and looked to be straight up game losing for rtz and black in the loser's finals and grand finals respectively.

Dusa needs the movespeed badly since she's so immobile, but she not at all a contender for anything like a Blink/Force Staff. She also has a ton of stats in her builds because of mana shield so her illusions have some weight behind them. It also means dusa can setup outside of your base and siege it with illusions and fighting into a fat medusa is usually just not going to happen. Then beyond that dusa is a long engagement fighter who generally wins longer fights with sheer force of will. Manta helps her as not only a projectile dodge, but also a way to dispell any long duration debuffs that might reduce her power. This is especially notable in terms of getting off a timely stone gaze through silences. Also Illusions get split shot which can be kind of nice. Overall it's just a solid item in a few different ways and it naturally flows from the yasha which is an important item in getting medusa to farm and move around the map faster. It's possible pros are favoring the upgrade too early or too much though; perhaps in part because of the nerf to sieging with illusions.

Something like use ball lightning to dodge projectiles is obvious, but perhaps his positional play, pick-off target, mana management (i.e. fly how many times for how far, etc.) are somehow better?

To dispel and disjoint, pro's wont build a manta if they dont need one in most games i've seen so far. Click on the list hero- and itemabilities and compare that to the draft. I guess that the worse the team is doing the more medusa becomes the only target, maybe making manta more viable (like, every hero sucked in both medusa games): Game Secret vs EG, manta dispelled or disjointed: "Tinker - Laser - Blind", "Axe - Battle Hunger", "Skywrath Mage - Ancient Seal", "Ethereal blade", "Shiva's Guard - Arctic Blast - MS Slow", "Tinker - Heat-Seeking Missile", "Skywrath Mage - Concussive Shot", "Witch Doctor - Some deathward bounces" Game VG vs EG, manta dispelled or disjointed: "Earthshaker - Echo Slam echoes", "Earthshaker - Enchant Totem - Damage Buff", "Brewmaster - Earth - Hurl Boulder", "Brewmaster - Drunken Haze - Slow&Miss", "Brewmaster - Thunder Clap - Slow", "Skywrath Mage - Ancient Seal", "Skywrath Mage - Concussive Shot".
