A stout shield doesn't do anything once you have 2 levels in kraken, right? Stout is 60% 20 dmg block, Kraken is 100% 20 dmg block. Ever since the ancient buff (making you want kraken 2 or 3 early) and the buff to kraken shell so it does 20 dmg block at level 2 getting stout is much less useful for a Tide except in maybe some edge cases. Today one of the advantages of Tide offlane nowadays is you can go stack ancients & contest the rune if the lane kill threat is too strong. If the enemy support(s) are staying in lane 24/7 and you're stacking ancients you're usually effectively outputting more than the other team. Since you can clear the ancients at 7 or 8 for a big gold/xp catch-up that's going to outdo what their support is contributing by just sitting there on top of their carry all the time. If they leave to go stack or pull then you get an opportunity to leech some xp and last hits. Sure it's harder 1v3 where they can do both at the same time, but that's sort of just the nature of trilanes. Other than that make use of your regen and the more mana & time the enemy supports waste zoning you out how they should be able to the less time they have to gank or stack. That and I usually open boots on offlane tide so I can position more aggressively without giving up the ability to retreat from any kill threats.

Depends on what role you play Abbadon on. I'm at 2.7kmmr and my friend plays Abbadon as a carry (I do not jest). However, if you play him more as a support (4/5 role), then urn is a better option. I think it gives Abbadon that mana regen he needs to keep spamming his spells early on for diving/keeping teammates alive in ganks/fights. Unless your farm is going really really well as a 4/5 position Abbadon, then you shouldn't get a Mek since its gonna be delayed. Just get it if you think you can around the 15-20 minute mark and you guys can go on teamfights cuz you have a mek.

As for your mek, these days I think it's only worth getting one on your cores if you can get it fast. Urn is a good pickup on the hero bc of the mana regen, str, utility, and cost. Someone can correct me but I feel like mek is much more situational this patch.

Seems like the farm could be utilized on other Herod to greater effect.

Are there any other items you can pool to other players? (the only one I actually know you can is a bottle). you can share all of the regeneration items (sobi mask, ring of health, ring of regen, void stone) and perserverence, but i'm pretty sure you can't use them in recipes

Offlane carry (sometimes we played him safelane when there was a good 3 position initiator) with either an aggressive support or a defensive support depending on how you feel your lane opponents would go like. Normally my friend would go Maestrom into Blademail (if he's getting focused) to Mjolnir. Basher/MKB next. Curse of Avernus gives a really good MS and AS bonus that's helpful for chasing and is not a UAM so Mask of Madness is a viable option on him. Sample game: http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1001912892 Of course the farm could be used on another much better carry.

Basically either of these in my opinion. Tide is ridiculous early game with Kraken Shell. CW is nice and tanky and can really make your opponent regret trying to harrass. I kinda disagree on Dark Seer as a "offlane learning" hero because the impact is questionable in uncoordinated pubs. Also, their carry getting last hits when you're solo offlane is not necessarily a lost lane. There's only so much you can do solo. If you really want to shut down their carry that hard you probably want to either try something with kill potential (Weaver can work, I've found Windrunner works too sometimes but I wouldn't recommend it) or call for a gank from mid where you can both leverage your level advantages to get the kill. On the topic of Abaddon Carry: the only real advantage Abaddon has as a Carry is that he's obnoxious as all hell to deal with because of that ult. That being said unless he snowballs he can be in an enormous amount of trouble because either the other team can be smart enough to trigger the ult and then wait for it to run out or, quite often, just flat out beat you down twice. After killing your whole team.
