On the Swedish stream (DraySWE) Loda, in an interview straight after the game, actually said the thing that I've been going on about for ages: Them not getting a direct invite was GOOD for them as a team.
They needed to grind through the qualifiers; it has improved their teamplay by miles!

I'm overjoyed seeing them play like this. Looking forward to Seattle!

Having to grind through the qualifiers seems to have done wonders for them! Their drafting seems really versatile as well, I'm feeling better about their chances at TI than I did at the start of the quals.

What a tough qualifier! EU is definitively very competitive. I'm happy that they realized it would be good for them to work hard for this TI, detecting problems in stressful situations and playing a lot against different teams and styles, trying new picks, playing with the meta instead of falling back into their comfortable zone.

It took them time though, even us the fans wouldn't send them direct invites to TI when they thought they deserved it. I was so happy to see s4 on fire and Loda being on top of farm, carrying the team and being a real threat for their opponents.

Gratz to them, they definitively deserve their spot in the group stage. Let's continue the same way and get that f**cking aegis again

The longer the Qualifier lasted, the better Alliance played. On day one they weren't looking that strong, but on Day 2 they looked quite a bit better and then steadly improved until the finals.

Great result , the best that could happen , i feared they wouldn't make it after that 0-2 start but now that they did no doubt that doing this mini tier2 TI is a VERY good practice and confidence booster , they won't be getting any "invite lul" meme that would no doubt occur once they lose a game @ TI , they earned it!

i'm beginning to think a direct invite is actually detrimental in some ways, especially looking at how alliance has improved over the entire qualifiers. TBH they hadn't impressed me before this, with their draft being a huge flaw imo, but now they've seemed to fixed it and are playing insanely well!
