Agreed, I do wonder why many oppose the series though. I understand that the series may not appeal to everyone but the TV adaptation is undeniably well made and I think anything under a 7/10 is pretty harsh. I personally think that the show is a 9/10 and would like some insight from those that give it such low ratings, your opinions would be appreciated.
Many dislike it because some parts after the initial plot were obviously made up after a few chapters of the manga, there are so many plot holes and loosely put together chapters that it just seems incredibly rushed. The animated series is the exact opposite though, the episodes are so drawn out that it feels like what they do in western TV except much worse; the climax of the episode is at the end and every episode has some kind of stupid cliff hanger which wasn't in the manga and all of the episodes feel like they are 10 minutes long. The beginning part where the titans invade the first wall was like a quarter of a chapter as was the part where Eren gets shot with a cannon but both of those took a whole episode in which nothing else happened except really drawn on scenes where the producer tried to fill every second with emotion which wasn't the pacing of the manga which makes it just feel stupid instead of you caring for some events. Also the most important scenes in the show felt like they were done really quickly with horribly animated repeating backgrounds that looked really silly and low budget.
most people who dislike it dislike it for 3 reasons as far as I know:
1) The characters are as annoying as you can ever get. Eren is literally the worst MC I've ever seen in any anime, ever. I dropped it the moment he came back to life ... 2) It's REALLY pretentious. It's not bad but the whole show just reeks teenagers screwing OMG I WATCH SHOWS FOR GROWN UPS, which really isn't a good thing if that's the impression you get 3) it's pretty garbage from a production's point of view. The thing is called attack on recap or attack on budget for a reason. The fight scenes look amazing but everything else was really bad copy & paste and you could see it.
All in all it's not a bad show and it gets way too much trash. It's pretty average and that's what I got it rated at 5/10 because neither is it good nor should it make anyone cringe. It gets more flak than other shows because it's so famous for the same reason SAO gets: it's famous for no reason other than hype.

1.) there are more annoying anime MC than Eren. Like the one in Miraii Nikki. To be honest his character ain't bad . He ain't super strong and he not annoying more like flawed. Idk about you Emnjay but powerful and "cool" characters are so boring nowadays. It's always the same damn character stereotype and it gets really boring. 2.) You don't actually have to care what people think when they watch a show. If they pretend to be "grown ups" by watching a "supposed grown up show" then let them. And you already know the show is targeted for teens. Most anime are targeted for teens anyways. 3.) It's fine the shit is entertaining anyways.
yeah I usually exaggerate when talking about those whiny emo dipshit MC's. He wasn't as bad as what you mentioned or the guy from School Days, I'll give him that and he wasn't all that bad either it's just that thiskind of MCs just rub me the wrong way. Same with TouMAN from Index and why I liked Railgun more than Index. Sure Misaka is awesome but you got Misaka in both index and railgun, right? But you don't have to listen to TouMAN in Railgun, or only for very short amounts of time. THAT to me is way more annoying than the OP kind of MC you mentioned because you have this whiny emo kind of guy in every show...
I believe railgun focused on the misaka right ? if i was female i'd go Yuri for her.

yeah they did. More Misaka (yay), less TouMAN preaching (yay), more Saten+teatime (meh) and less TouMAN punching nuns in the face (meh).

If he lost motivation all he has to do is look at the prize pool. If 8 million dollars doesn't get you motivated...
Anyway, I read it as going MIA not because of a loss of motivation, but to train and practice even harder. Isn't RTZ doing the same thing and not streaming anymore until after TI4?
Don't worry guys, this is just the timeskip period where everyone wonders where the MC went before the big finale fight. Just keep posting and the LANs + TI4 will roll around eventually.
