teddy also made me check about the 2-15 lol well TI3 format decided 5 teams tournament life in 10 matches with b01's i'm not sure how's that better than TI4 at least you need to win against half the teams not just 1 team

Maybe the audience too since they won't see their favorite teams play out the main event but does that really matter cause the shit teams and the teams that has a lot of fanboys but not really good would only be able to play 1 to 2 series anyways unless they got lucky in the bracket The format gives the "world championship" vibes that it's a tournament of the year that's it's not the payday tournament but rather a tournament where everybody has to work so hard. It's a "kill or be killed " thing since it's the biggest tournament of the year why not make it the hardest and the most threatening one. Not just a event with a lot of money but still the same as other tournaments. Actually if you want everybody to play the main stage since it's gonna end up another massive tie's with the decent teams if they play the bubble race on the stadium i think i'd be the same and not different from the normal bracket in terms of enjoyment. Not to mention they maintain the hype of the tournament. I think people are just upset last year cause ehem ALMOST ALL WESTERN FAVORITES GOT ELIMINATED. what in the world why bother inviting teams to play at a finals when half of them are sitting in the audience during the event how does that make for a good tournament at all it's like half the teams at the world cup playing their games behind closed doors with no audience, and then getting 'invited' to sit in the stands during quarterfinals hows that a good idea at all you can still have 'elimination hype' or whatever it is ur talking about in ur post without resorting to forcing teams to bow out before the actual tournament even begins

And how is it even better if the worst teams are gonna get eliminated after 1-2 series anyways ? And not to mention they will just fuck around during group stages if it had one. And the elimination group stages really helps since everybody played against everybody and they tried their hardest not fuck around like what happens on other group stages when they know they are gonna qualify already. The order that they were played was also terrible. yeah day 1 having the 1st grand finalist already was pretty fuckiing bad not sure why they thought it was a good idea to play out the winners bracket grand finals on the first day not on the 2nd or 3rd day last year

idk if youre just not comprehending english or something but I'll repeat it again you can still have 'elimination hype' without having half the games played with no audience for those teams (and the audience) there's literally no difference between the invite to TI and playing in a hypothetical offline qualifiers for TI.

last year's format was a direct result of them only having 4 days to run the whole bracket as opposed to 5 like they did at ti3 this year they have 6 days to run the whole bracket, which means that the format will almost certainly be a 16 team bo1 group stage to determine seeds into a double elim bracket similar to what was at TI3

The difference is that 6-10 teams on TI gets into the event without really much work like yeah sure they proved themselves the entire year so they get invited but everybody gets a huge pay even for the worst placing ones without much effort on the event itself (outside the prepartion they did before getting into TI ofc obviously). It feels like another tournament. And even if they kept the same round robin group stages(without the elimination factor aside from the bottom 1-3) there's no real guarantee that they will be serious 100% of the matches. Which really kills cause half the matches wouldn't matter anyways for most teams anyways. And there's another benefit for it which is we get to see our favorite team to play all the teams in the event in a serious manner.
