Monkey king bar is a reference to, you know, sun wukong. The monkey king who carried around a 'bar' as a weapon.
The Monkey King, Sun Wukong, is the subject of the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West. His weapon, Ruyi Jingu Bang (如意金箍棒), is a magical iron rod with ends banded with gold. Although it weighs several tons, the Monkey King can shrink it at will and tuck it behind his ear and It can also grow at will and duplicate into an infinite number of individual rods.
The True Strike ability reference however, does not come from the magical rod, but from his eyes, Jin Jing Huoyan (金睛火眼). After he had been trapped in Bagua Lu (八卦爐) 49 days, his eyes was refined into Jin Jing Huoyan, granting him the ability to distinguish demons from humans known as True Sight.

that's fine and great. they stylized it that way and had someone tell all the voice actors to voice it that way. thank you for sharing because I had no idea and never paid attention to that bit of voice acting.
I'm merely putting it out there that with Japanese origins, the words are pronounced oddly, lol.
I'm not saying the monkey king bar is also something Japanese, (which it obviously isn't). if only by coincidence it's just also an item featured in PSO, which dota 1 borrowed random names of things from.
for example, the BKB was also an item in PSO and it was created with the MKB as a mat.
sange and yasha were separate items that could be combined into dual swords in PSO as well.
so yes, I'd wager it was a direct rip in that sense.

I'm out at a family party right now. if you YouTube the item there are a bunch of videos previewing the animation. It feels like it randomly produces the particles that spell "GG" in the blue trail behind bara
It's just the hoof things that, when they appear close together, appear to spell "GG"
