Happy to hear from you guys as well. I'm kinda lucky that we can do work remotely, but that's it really. So far I'm still kinda learning the job so I don't really know. I like the part where I can build things because school was really theoretical, so I'm happy to be finished.

. Somehow the devs bungled the release and the netcode so it's not even on steam and the player base is tiny. Kind of a tragedy because the game itself is awesome.

Kind of a tragedy because the game itself is awesome.Japanese fighting game devs are notoriously obstinate about the way they make games and the global market. It took a year long pandemic for arcsys to release a major title with good rollback netplay. SNK is a bit of a tragic developer as they don't have the same know-how and bank as the more successful publishers, so their games almost always have outdated game engines and netcode. It roots back to their first successful business strategy of making arcade booths with cheap hardware that could be sold anywhere: family restaurants, laundromats, etc. Samurai Shodown had a great show at EVO2019 actually, unfortunate what happened after. If your up for it, we could try playing some rounds through a screensharing program? I need people to play with lol. I guess the lag from santiago to detroit might be unbearable tho :p parsec is currently the screensharing program for newer games that dont have good netcode, usually people setup a midwest server for cross country games

I'd probably need to find a server in like Mexico City for it to be halfway between faru and myself tho :p I didn't know about that history of SNK, but I read that it was being sold to a portfolio owned by Mohammed Bin Salman. I'm hoping that means it's gonna get a influx of capital for fixing stuff. Im not sure iv ever seen a game with a greater discrepancy between the quality of the gameplay and the quality of literally every other aspect of the game from distribution to netcode lol If anyone else is up for playing some rounds sometime, hit me up! ![]()
