How is he "killed"? They hardly touched his laning. If anything they just made it so that losing your lane is unforgivable as you can't catch up by just farming ancients.

He's still going to be a bitch to push into, he's still going to be a bitch to track down when he has his items up.

He's in an okay spot right now. It's not like Tinker has difficulty winning mid.

Void came out pretty fine this patch. The major adjustment will be to his late game item progression: MKB is now a necessity and you'll probably have to sack MoM for it. On the other hand, the overall changes seem to implicitly buff him as a safelane carry.

Yeah, I'm actually quite happy with going back to hex/shivas Tinker. That shit is so cool as well.
Also Blood Rage Zeus Refresher + Blood Rage NP Refresher = the other team is fucked.
And PL looks quite fun now - his new ability is like a blink, and the charge is cool as well.
Actually - how will the new PL passive work with pulling creep aggro? Hmm...

I was enjoying watching pro 6.81 recently though (boring picks, exciting games) as the patch settled. Not so sure about all these upcoming LANs on this crazy patch

Looks good. Rune changes kinda iffy though.... Basically permanent bottle regen mid for both sides. Otherwise you have to time that someone else grabs the opposite rune of you when it spawns, which will never happen in pubs.

Really? I remember there was a certain period of time where mids didn't even bother to rotate for runes. Instead, they left them to the supports/offlaner.

Big reason why is because most heroes that were prevalent during the patch like Naga, Tinker, Viper, Brew and Razer has little to no rune control in the first place whereas before heroes like QoP and Puck that has relatively easy access to runes would contest it more. Not like you want to say no to a haste rune if your a TA or something like that.

I saw more cases where the rune is of some value, a support (assuming the enemy offlaner isn't doing contesting it) would just guard it until the mid can get there.

So my interpretation of this change which might be wrong is that it provides a happy middle ground so that "tempo" mids can be more viable without killing off mid heroes that enjoys farming.

Yeah, plus it was a vicious cycle since if you don't know what your team is picking you can't really make an intelligent pick yourself. Can't even count the number of times I was pick 4/5, took a mid or carry because we didn't have one, and pick 5/5 took another mid or carry that completely ruined the team comp.

On the topic of the patch timing, first of all there's no off-season so you may as well release the patch when it's ready. Second of all it's not like IF just cooked up all these changes since TI4 and is shitting them out now to reset the meta as a goal unto itself. Especially with the map design, these things have been in the making for a long time--that leaked image of the rosh pit was from 2 years ago
